SOUTH AFRICA elephants and impalas at a dam (Krugerpark 1 May 2024)

We spent a couple of hours at the Shipandani birdhide (near Mopani). Elephants came to the dam for a drink and also some impalas. But the impalas had to take care because there were several crocodiles at the dam.

Yes, you saw them! Several crocodiles in and out of the water, they like an impala for dinner.... The waterhole is part of a river. When the river falls dry, there is still water in this section.

Which animals are impala most comfortable drinking with?

Impalas come most times together in large herds (30 or more) to drink. Sometimes there are also other antelopes or zebras.
