As South Africa is a Rainbow Nation, this shows that to lead this beautiful country is about a proper leadership and strategies. People it’s no longer about the colour all we need in South Africa is a strong economy without fraud, today we are facing load shedding etc because of fraud and tender corruption. Social housing should not be mistaken for rdp housing. Social housing is subsidized housing where the state provide some funds to construct the buildings and the owner is an organization that lease the housing below market conditions (i.e. R3000/month for 3 Bedroom apartment) . So the occupants are leasing the house not owning it. To qualify for this your net household income can not exceed a certain amount. Not dismissing this great project, just trying to provide some clarity on social housing.

Rather pay reasonable rentals for quality and affordable accomodation that is well maintained instead of paying the same amount in rentals to a slumlord and living in filthy squalor where nothing works and where nothing is maintained. It is a great step out of poverty and into middle class living!! I think there are also rent towards future ownership options as well!
