These are not South African miners, these are illegal miners, the majority of them are illegal people from Lesotho, Mozambique and Zimbabweans, with some South Africans of course. 2. These illegal miners refused to come out because the police were ready to arrest them, some did and what they are doing now, the bosses underground stops them from resurfacing. 3. The police blocked the outside supply of food and water so that they can come out, the NGO took the matter to court and the court ruled that they should receive food and the food and water was allowed, but still they would not resurface, except for the few who managed t escape, because they are blocked by criminals. 4. Those who managed to come out claim that the criminal bosses controls the food and water that is sent underground, giving them less food and keeping the rest for themselves. 5. They now demanded ARVs and other etc, they are do not intend to leave.
