They do partake in lyric writing, but not in all their songs. For example, they were praised by Lady Gaga for their writing on Sour Candy even though they weren't credited. They also write their solo music. They have also written music and performed it in their trainee days, like JenLisa Sure Thing Rap verse. Yg doesn't allow them to partake too much in their writing for group music, cause if they ever want their music back, like psy and 2ne1, it would be a whole legal expensive court case.

Wait just to clarify and real blinks know this... Ofc they do write their own songs its just that yg dont give credits to their work, esp jenlisa jennie and lisa coz most of their rap parts it was originally written by themselves (jenlisa), most of the time when they were still trainees. Jisoo said they (blackpink) always involve in everything. They don't receive a complete song, that they just gonna practice and go for recording? Nope! Bp always involved. They aren't just pretty women. They're very talented, smart, humble, sweet, lovely and very down to earth. etc.. That's why i stan the right group. That im very proud of for the rest of my life.
