Go Go is actually a really deep and kind of sad song about the hopeless financial situation the younger generation are in to the extent that they've essentially given up trying to invest in their own futures. Shen they had the press conference for this album, they shared the true meaning behind this song which IS very BTS. Most albums they have what they call a "socially conscious" song where they give commentary on something they have observed or felt strongly about. They explained that GoGo was that for Love Yourself: Her; it’s a very sarcastic take on the mindset youth have on the value of money. All we want to do is squander our money when we have it and enjoy ourselves, all while excusing our behaviour by saying that we only live once. Yoongi said "The current generation uses phrases like YOLO and having fun squandering money, but I don’t think people think about why they use such terms so much even while using the terms. We tried to interpret [this phenomenon] through BTS’s unique perspective." Namjoon also said, "The song revealed just how tough it was to be young in this day and age. It’s about how our young generation are living their lives with low expectations and standards so people are upset with reality; they have little hope and there’s so much economic hardship. We wanted to say something about it and emphasise to the world that it’s not their choice, but brutal reality that forces people to live and spend as if there’s no future." On its surface, “Go Go” sounds like a blissed-out trip-hop ditty that prays at the church of YOLO partying. But in fact, the lyrics contain sharp criticisms of materialism and the emptiness that comes with constantly searching for the next high. “It isn’t a BTS album if there isn’t a track criticising society.”

Bts has so many songs with great colour coded views ..but sometimes they delete the video and reupload it as a result the previous views are gone ...I remember in 2019 jungkook's euphoria colour coded lyrics had the highest views with 101 million ...in 2019 they deleted that video ...and now euphoria colour code has 30 million something views but bts official released chanel has more than 100 million views for euphoria...if they didn't deleted that video now in 2022 that video would have crossed more 200 million views in colour coded ..what I am trying to say is sometimes they delete the video and reupload it ...so this is why the views of some video has good and some videos have average views...

J-Hope was referencing Captain Nemo from the novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (who he also referenced in his solo 'Hope World')- but I think the choreographer referenced Finding Nemo because the moves at that like had hands flapping at their sides, like the fins of fish RM's line actually used the Korean word for sh** -- Korean TV made them change that for broadcasting but apparently never noticed that their ad-libs in the background are singing "f***ing hell, f***ing hell" because it's in English, so that still made it onto national Korean TV 😂

You should watch the GoGo performance that was the Valentine's Day special, it's great. Also, Namjoon sometimes does change his "accent" a bit every now and then. When he speaks English he sometimes gets a slight "British" sounding tone. Tae was subdued during the practice because a friend of his had recently died, there's more behind the scenes of the members cheering him up or attempting to. And GoGo is more social commentary that personal, they weren't really talking about themselves being poor but the culture surrounding youth because of South Korea's downsliding economy. There was too fast of a boom and now everything's going down. Housing costs are through the roof because of boomers and nothing is actually affordable, which leaves the younger generations floundering and worried for the future. Gangnam Style by Psy is another social commentary about the same thing, youth squandering the money they earn instead of saving it because the world they live in leaves them with no hope.

But you're not the first to think that, and even I did at first and got very confused. These are some well-educated men. Go go is the Baepsae 2.0 😆 it's a social commentary abt how for our generation, daily expenses are getting higher bec fck capitalism and at the same time opportunities for us to have money are not much, which older generations (esp boomers) fail to understand. They just judge younger generations so easily abt their spending habits while being oblivious/dismissive of the challenges we are forced into that makes us lose sight of a better future. So f them and this capitalist society, let's just spend it all on things that can actually make us happy now bec yolo lol.
