I am an Alabama fan and DeBoer's honeymoon is definitely over. He is in denial about how bad things are on defense. Why in the world is Bama, that has some of the best players on the planet, running some gimmick defense from a horrible defensive coordinator we got from NAIA or wherever he came from. And the tackling is atrocious. iIs like 3 missed tackles per running play against us.

@aztronomy7457 Debates about whether they should've been in the playoffs last year notwithstanding, their true "down year" was 2022. They played well, but didn't really beat any real opponents until their bowl game. They shouldn't have been ranked nearly as high as they were that season. That said, Bama will be just fine. DeBoer is taking some early lumps but given what he did with less talented teams than Bama generally has, he'll keep the team in contention.

@@aztronomy7457 Yeaaaah Nick Saban standards tend to be pretty high. These last two years were pretty forgettable compared to much of what he did for the Tide. And believe you me, I'd love nothing more than to see the Tide crash. Their fanbase has grown incredibly spoiled and entitled thanks to Saban, and he was NOT afraid to call that fanbase out when it was needed lol

Im gonna say it. Yes Alabama defense is suspect, but Milroe is not a throwing QB. He cannot read coverage/defense and continues to miss reads and cripple his OLine. It kills how me everybody talks about bamas days of winning is over. Since 2020, they have won a national championship and been in playoffs twice since then. So in four years, they have accomplished more than most. That being said, they don't look like most winning alabama teams we've had in the past.

Kalen DeBoer is average. Period. His NAIA and Pac-12 records are artificially inflated by having superior talent to his competition. He doesn't outcoach anybody unless the other coach is incompetent. I said it all along, but Alabama fans wanted to pretend like he was a coaching legend who just hasn't had the opportunity at a big-time program. Well, now he's been handed the keys to the Ferrari, and he's already wrecked it twice. Jalen Milroe is not a good passing quarterback. The ESPN and ABC commentators have to gas him up whenever he hits a wide open receiver for a TD so that the average Joe can think to himself, "Wow! Milroe is special!" Jim Harbaugh and Michigan debunked that myth back in January. DeBoer is running Bama into the ground, they're headed back to the Shula era.

Alabama did not need to score. They were up by one point and SC were out of timeouts. Number 5 should have gone down at the one yard line with 1:55 remaining and bled the clock. Alabama gave SC an opportunity to tie the game by scoring.
