Sania Feagin will start. Dawn has said on numerous occasions she’s the most talented Forward she’s ever coached! Even more so than A’ja and Aliyah! She’s paid her dues by waiting her time to come and others to graduate and that time is now. Feagin will definitely start at the 4. Walker will back up Cardoso with Watkins. SC now has more versatility down low than they probably ever had.

Another good one Quita. Thank you for ding this vid. You are becoming my go to for all things women's basketball. I hope others will follow suit. I dont know what Sakima's role will be, but I trust and hope she will trust Dawn and her coaching staff to figure it out. I do expect Ashlyn Watkins to have an increased role though. Losing Aneesa Morrow without the opportunity to sell her on the program must be frustrating as hell. But good programs like Sou Car will push through it. Remain competitive.

I hate the narrative of Walker vs Morrow. Those two are completely different players and play different positions. Personally given SC roster i think she's the perfect fit. SC needed depth at the 5 and and an experience guard that can shoot. They got both and i believe their roster is complete and getting her is a big win. Morrow would have been great to have but she likely would have taken minutes from the 3/4(Hall, Feagin, Watkins, Kitts) positions in which SC has plenty of talented recruits patiently waiting their turn. I advise all to not sleep on the Gamecocks, they may be inexperience, but they have a top 5 roster.

Exactly. Every coach has their own board which is not the same as the “consensus” best players. It would not surprise me to learn Staley had Walker higher on her board than Morrow. She fits their system better and fills a greater need. SC got who they wanted.

@Tigerkem I agree with you 💯% Walker and Morrow are two different people and I'm VERY HAPPY we got Walker because in my opinion I like her better for South Carolina over Marrow. Everyone is talking about LSU and what player's are on the team. Just wait that is going to change VERY soon because all the talk is going to be on UConn Huskies and Paige Bueckers return. Yes Caitlin Clark's name will be said over and over by everyone this year but it won't rang as much as it did last year because Paige will be back and LSU will be mention like South Carolina and Aliyah Boston name was said last year and the years before Aliyah, it was said every now and then or until Dawn said what needed to be said about how South Carolina was being treated or over looked by the Sports Media.

I really love South Carolina but my problem with them is last year they had no true outside shooters. Outside of Cook, Raven Johnson need to get back to scoring the basketball.

For the most part, the inside game was working. Even on the final 4 game it was working til the end when we had back to back turnovers. Granted, the outside shooting would have been a blow out if we had that. But this season outside shooting will not be a problem!

Sakima Walker has a 3 point shot and can shoot free throws. Two things that are weaknesses of Aneesah Morrow. Walker also is a decent shot blocker. Also, South Carolina had three players this season that shot over 35 percent from the three point line. Shooting the three was not their bread and butter but as a team they were capable.

@@thatch418 right. you average 27 points being the best player on a trash team in a trash conference. no shade, but morrow has a LOT of work to do on defense to be successful in the sec. she’s a caitlin clark kinda player (taking 20 FG attempts a game). and her being a 6’1 forward doesn’t help. SEC bigs are BIG and PHYSICAL. though if it’s anybody i think can whip her into form, it’s mulkey.

@@jjaylanni Y’all gotta realize it’s not about what conference you play for that’s a theory these media’s folks say now everyone else say it to thinks it’s a big deal Reese prove to everybody switching conferences don’t matter that girl destroyed the SEC and teams tried Tripple team her in the paint and that still didn’t work and in that South Carolina game she got in early foul trouble and basically had to sit a lot in that game in first half so she was nonexistent I was at that game Refs was calling Bs calls on her .. but when you gotta do so much on the offensive side of the Ball speaking for Aneesha Morrow defense want be your strength because you basically saving your legs for offense to score more to give your team a chance .. but with LSU this girl gone blossom because she want have the responsibility to just score any more .. this why she wanted to play with other good players so she can open up her game ….

When it comes to LSU, people talk about the players they are bringing back and the players they have brought in from the portal, but haven't even considered the recruits that will start playing next season AND the year after. They are going to be unplayable, especially with Aalyah del Rosario. I think SC will still be competitive, especially if Kardoso improves, and the recruits from last year and the year before step up with their increased minutes.

Last year's team was better than the year before although they win a chip, and that team was better than the year before which was a great team. I think South Carolina has become a final four or nothing team, in terms of what's expected from them nowadays, that may be their ceiling next season. By the way, love your channel.

Hear me out. I think we'll be just as good next season even though we lost 7 players. We'll have a more versatile team. We'll be able to play half cout offense and we'll be able to speed the game up with our guards coming in and the guard from the transfer portal. Samika Walker is versatile also.

I’m pretty psyched about this pick up! A 6’5” center who shoots 50% from beyond the arc…please and thank you! She was also a higher rated recruit out of HS than Morrow was. Morrow was a 3 star rated at 90 by ESPN, and Walker was a 4 star rated 95. I’m not saying those rankings are everything, just that SC got a great player with a ton of talent.

That is much more important than any basketball game or any shot…As a Gamecock fan I welcome her with open arms. Dawn isn’t worried because she loves building dreams, supporting her team. A lot of people are jumping on the current winners bandwagon. As a Gamecock fan, the loss was indeed humbling but a learning curve. The bench is still loaded and they definitely will still play a “we” game and not a “look at me”…

She is no where near the Candace Parker, A’ja Wilson, EDD, and Breanna Stewart types of player! Those are the ones you get sick over! Morrow has A LOT of weaknesses in her game. We’ll see if Kim can fix them but I guarantee Dawn moved on that same day I promise 😂. Hell Dawn is focusing on Joyce Edwards 6’4” do it all Wing/ Forward #2 player in the country in 2024 class right from Camden, SC. Not getting Morrow is far from the end of the world.

They can actually play without a target on their back, all eyes are on the 'fashionable team', in LSU this year. But the team to watch is Ole Miss....

I don’t think we ever had Aneesah Morrow - once she step foot on LSU it was OVA - let’s just be honest and I don’t blame her that NIL with LSU is legit!!! I think Dawn knows SC has a lot to do over the next few years - we lost 7 players - it’s rebuilding time for SC - I also think the rest of the Lady Gamecocks are just ready for their time! SC has 10 McDonald's ALL Americans on the team that Dawn has to work with. That is more than any team in the country. SC does not need any more bench depth. SC need to save the 3 scholarships for next class since it is possible for everyone to return next year.

I think all 3 have their strengths. I've seen Feagin get 10 pts 7 rebs in 7 minutes, she can light it up. Watkins got a nice elbow jumper and can jump out the building to block alter shots. Walker(haven't seen much) looks to have KD potential with certain moves, for instance a step back 3 on some which shit. Who going to guard that?
