Actually... home ump called runner out. SC coach argued call. There is NO CHALLENGE ALLOWED no review. But his challenge caused other umps to overturn home ump. End of discussion. Had home ump called him safe. LSU couldn't challenge. Rule to have no review needs to change. Everybody saw Brady Neal do text book positioning and make the out. It's ok. Travinski walked fairly and Milam homered. Ball game

As a coach, i wouldn't allow players to take interviews during a game , especially in the 3rd or 4th inning. You can be up 8 runs, but all my players need to pay attention to the game and not play with bannanas on camera. Stay focused because a team is never out of it till it's over. LSU was watching from their dugout and didn't need any extra momentum.

I maintain my stanch as an LSU fan, that I said about this coach in his last after game interview vs LSU. Hes a quality coach and a great representative for the sec. I don’t lie, that he challenged a play that he deserved to be out. But i wouldn’t be upset with JJ had he done the same.

So he admitted that his intention was to draw Neil into getting that call instead of playing ball. Umpires should review any play that can greatly affect the outcome. Neil never touched or crossed the plate before he caught the ball. Umps got it wrong per the rule.

Catcher never touched home or got out in front of it. Pitcher did not balk either. He was out 100 percent. If it were a reviewable play it would have been overturned. Ended up not mattering but for what was on the line, the umps boofed up

Simple answer. They are not awful. They are flawed. They play in the toughest conference in the nation and were about 500 in conference play. Their program has two national championships six natty appearances and way to many to count CWS appearances. A lot of programs would have been ecstatic to have had the team they had this year. However with the standard in Columbia, this team puts the coach on the hot seat.
