All they had to do was take care of business against a SC team that got crushed by Florida last week - that same Florida team lost to VANDERBILT today. South Carolina did what Alabama couldn't, throw the ball deep. Tennessee's frustration really showed early in this game. To me, that means the South Carolina coaching staff did a better job than Tennessee's. Tennessee is also a victim of a virus in modern football, poor tackling. The rules are making the game harder for the defense to inflate scoring and the players today don't want to tackle. So, you end up with atrocities of football like Tennessee showed tonight.

Obviously giving up that many points was surprising for sure but not as surprising as some are making it out to be. Bama shredded this defense after still making a billion stupid mistakes and Anthony Richardson of the Gators had a career day going for over 400 in the air if I’m not mistaken. Tennessee can score but the defense all year has been suspect. By all means they are extremely good offensively but that defense can’t allow them to be ranked in the top 5.
