I'll always remember the first time i saw this. It was a program the city threw where they gathered all these city boys for a night of seminars and discussions about what it meant to be a man. They played this at the beginning and the rest of the night was about lessons you could learn in relation to this movie. Paths your life could take from decisions you make, etc

That's actually an interesting thing to do, this movie is packed with a ton of messages that I feel many people can learn from; we're all responsible for how we act and the choices we make.

@@lowkeyloki8832 i know but there are several reasons i dont watch primms....1. we dont get to see the reaction of the narrator 2. its not really a reaction video to me but more like cliff notes, giving a summary of the movie 3. u can tell its not the narrators 1st time seeing the movie by how he speak on it.....ive seen EVERY "hood" movie but i like to see the reaction of folks who havent, especially when theyre from another culture if u get what im sayin😎💯

I've loved South Central since i was a kid. I was born in '82, so i was 10 when this came out. Boyz N The Hood and Menace II Society always get talked about more, but i've always felt like this movie is a very underrated hood movie.

South Central is very loosely based on the Crips gang in Los Angeles. The character of Bobby Johnson is based on Stanley "Tookie" Williams. The character of Ray Dewitt is based on Raymond "Ray Ray" Washington. Both Williams and Washington were the two co-founders of the Crips.

Back in the 80s south Central that " hat passing" was a sign to the other " Muslim clan members" that logo was one of them now so they would have to protect him and fight for him ( stop rape attempts) . Loco was a target without him so by giving him the hat the whole group not just Ali would offer a save haven for loco and he wouldn't have to pay him back hence he had the hat he would be one of them.
