Planes crashes are always dramatic… people were happy to welcome a father, a mother, a brother, a sister, a spouse, a child, a good friend and any other loved one, and this happens. It is painful even for me a stranger. I can only imagine how it is for the loving ones. My condolences.

Yes and it's so pointless. This shouldn't have happened. As rule of thumb planes that make it to normal (non emergency) landing are safe. They should have been safe, they were moments away from landing safely. It's cruel.

Somewhere along the line, likely someone messed up. Bird strike and visibility issue due to weather does not add up. The wheels were never deployed. How can bird strikes damage that part of the plane??

All planes are design to withstand bird strike loads. There may some other technical issue on this 14 year old plane which couldn't withstand bird strike..
