We head south from Port Smith to one of our favourite spots Ningaloo. This time is very different from past experiences as we are unable to tow both our caravan and a bigger boat. So we stayed inside the inner reef as this little boat isn't able to get up on the plane (we may need to make some future changes). Unfortunately, it doesn't handle much the swell much either.
With the weather window on our side, we made the most of it taking our little boat out each day right up to the edge of the reef.
We were definitely grateful to have the boat, but our past experiences knew what was on the other side of the reef. To be honest snorkeling this section of the inner reef was like being in a bit of a desert with very limited fish life and with a better boat we would have found better ground for sure!
We are so lucky to have such a beautiful reef in our home state and we have so many precious memories here with our children, friends and family. I guess we are just a little spoilt, where we have spent most of our time out the back of the reef fishing, trawling and spearfishing. With some very epic experiences and stories.
In spite of our boats limited capabilities, we loved spending our time here once again, it was just a little different this time. I think if we could get it up on the plane we would have been a bit more confident with it and maybe even tried a "Sarah and Keelan" haha!
