Fun facts: • In the Guinness World Records 2001, this film was said to have the most profanity used in an animated film. The book cited a total of 399 swear words, including 146 uses of the word "f***," along with 199 offensive gestures and 221 acts of violence. This movie was the highest-grossing R-rated animated film until Sausage Party (2016) outgrossed it seventeen years later. This film originally had an NC-17 rating. • if y’all already knew, George Clooney was the voice of the doctor in the movie. • When the children are in rehab a poster in the back of Mr. Mackey's room reads, "Get High!!! On Pottery," which was a quote from a high school teacher of Matt Stone's. The original quote was, "Son, you need to know not to use pot as a natural high. Instead of getting high with pot, get high with pottery." • In the credits both Saddam Hussein (Matt Stone) and Satan (Trey Parker) are listed as playing themselves. • Trey Parker and Matt Stone did not need to get Brian Boitano's permission to use his name and likeness for the song "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" A few years later Boitano did need to get, and received, Parker and Stone's permission to use the phrase on T-shirts that he sold for charity. • James Hetfield of Metallica sings "Hell Isn't Good." • The song "Blame Canada" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, but it lost to Phil Collins' "You'll Be In My Heart" (from Tarzan (1999)). In return, Trey Parker and Matt Stone ridiculed Collins in the fourth season of South Park (2000). • Tweek was the only series regular not to appear in this film at all. Cartman calls "The Mole" (the French boy) British. On the TV show, he called Pip (the English boy) French. • This film marked the first time in the entire series that Kenny is seen without his hood on. • When Kenny uncovers his face at the end and says "goodbye you guys" the voice of Kenny is portrayed by Mike Judge, the creator of Beavis and Butt-Head. Isaac Hayes, the voice of Chef on South Park, had previously sang the opening credits theme music to Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.

Guys. V-Chip was an actual thing back in 1999. They were sticking them in TVs. Parents could activate them to block out shows or channels they didn't want their kids to watch. Parental Lock replaced them because they were totally useless. Kids would just unplug the TV for 10 minutes and reset them. They did absolutely nothing.

Remember that the creators of South Park wrote a Broadway play called The Book of Mormon, that won NINE Tony Awards. The music in this movie slaps so hard. Blame Canada was nominated for a best original song Oscar and didn't win. One of the ironic things about this movie is that parents took their kids to it not knowing what it was or doing research. They left really fast and then complained, when it's on the parents to know what they were getting into. The movie was literally is making fun of them at times. haha

YES!! This received the NC-17 rating for the strong graphic language throughout, yet the producers had to cut some swears to obtain an R Rating. It was nominated for Best Original Song, "Blame Canada."
@JediMastr808 ай бұрын
Actually not completely accurate. The South Park movie got an NC-17 a total of 6 times. Each time Matt and Trey were told to remove something, they replaced it with something worse out of spite. After the 5th or 6th time the MPAA rated it NC-17, the marketing agent from Paramount called Parker and Stone saying they "NEEDED" an R rating. Stone called producer Scott Rudin who then called a Paramount executive and freaked out on them. Magically, the rating was lowered to R the very next day (MPAA I think caved to Paramount freaking out at them with possible threats, although that is speculation on my part). There is an entire section on the movie's Wikipedia page under "Release" that goes into a lot more detail. Stone and Trey go into more detail at how stupid the MPAA's logic of only caring about words said. MPAA is basically a censorsip organization, nothing more. MPAA was basically trying to find anyway to silence Matt and Trey after they gave their previous movie Orgasmo an NC-17 and they were pissed at that one. Another fun fact, MPAA also gave Team America: World Police an NC-17 at first. Aftering cutting many scenes, the MPAA would be pleased they got to butcher a film and gave it an R rating after that. Back then, they gave some very stupid guidelines saying over 400 swear words would be NC-17 so they have 399 for this movie.
@plaguedoctorjamespainshe60098 ай бұрын
The MPAA and ESRB are so ridiculous Their NC-17 and AO ratings are unnecessary and kills any piece of media, and that affects the entire world even tho everybody else has other rating organisations There shouldn't be an adult rating and an "adulter" rating
