Locals tried to lynch him so when he was released from prison he was given a new identity and a court/government order than if anyone shared any information about him including images, his new name, address or town/city he was living in you’d be arrested and imprisoned. Within a few years of being released he was in prison again for child porn. The other was obviously muhammed, he adopted a man as his brother and appointment him his successor. One day he walked in on his ‘brothers’ 6 year old daughter and her friends playing with dolls. He then had two sexual dreams about the 6 year old girl and decided this was a message from allah that he was to marry that 6 year old. Naturally her father told Muhammad she was too young then muhammed tells him about the wet dream he had and that it was allah telling him he should marry that child. Muhammed was 50-53when he married her and three years later she was forced to move in and share a bed with muhammed when she was 9 and he was 53-56 (that a nice way of saying she was raped).

He also asked them “Why did you make me say twaa?” Matt had a friend in high school that would say twaa at the end of his sentences and they just randomly decided to have David Blaine say it. 😂

This was Matt and Trey taking a more subtle shot at Scientology, before the fiasco with Isaac Hayes a few seasons later (Blainetology, getting ‘clean’, instead of clear, etc). They were much more on the nose in later seasons.

So glad I still have the DVD boxset for this season, can watch uncensored Muhammad like we should be able to do. Just b/s that CC submitted to never showing Muhammad again in Cartoon Wars I and II, 201 and 202. Also, this wasn't the first appearance of Moses. He's in S3 in a very weird trilogy.

It wasn’t the Muslim community, it was a group of people doing extreme bullcrap! I’m Muslim myself & I found this episode good, the episode wasn’t even offensive. Even if it had been offensive, South Park offends everyone & everything so it would be understandable. Also it’s not only the prophet Muhammad, but also Jesus & Moses, Abraham & so on because they are also special holy figures to us Muslims, however some Muslims wouldn’t get angry over their depicts which is hypocritical to me.

They had elements of other cults like Jim Jones and Koresh, but this was mostly a slam against Scientology (one of many). Like how they said "our leader is still alive" or the part about paying to go up the levels. Plus, I believe the incident about running someone off the side of the road is based on a real incident in which a former Scientologist was harassed by members after leaving the cult.

This is such a weird episode, because in later seasons they make one where there's a big controversy over whether or not they can show a picture of the prophet Mohammed, and I believe it's a two-parter. They don't end up showing it out of fear, but in this episode we clearly see the South Park animators had no problem drawing him for this story. Weird 🤔
