I have not been to South Philadelphia in over 11 years, I miss it my mom was raised there and I would spend the weekends visiting my grandparents in the 60s and 70s.

My Mom too! 110 Mifflin St. Front and Mifflin... and I too visited my grandparents there in the 60s and 70s. I went back in 2007 and my Mom's street had changed. Looked gorgeous!

Interesting about that abandoned ship in Port that has been there for many years...Also the US Coast Guard station, the pier with the nice overview of the Del River between BF and WW bridges via Camden NJ waterfront...

Nice scoot around South Philly, Captain. I'm a River Wards kid like you so South Philly always feels a bit strange to me. "2 St" is a bit more narrow up toward Pennsport where the mummer clubhouses are. If you're looking for some more unique rowhouses you won't find outside of South Philly as far as I know - check out the walkup-style houses at Bigler & Beulah near Stella Maris past Oregon way down south. They are pretty cool looking.

Thanks for the tour of the area where I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s. Of course, there have been some changes, but you would be surprised at how much it looks the same.
