Lately, I've playing Pokémon Violet. I thought it'd be fun to share my first playthrough on Twitch, and after a slow start on my part, it's been a good time! There's still a lot of stuff that I haven't gotten to (have only done one Titan battle, one Team Star base, and have not made a single sandwich), as but now that I've found a sort of rhythm and and proceeding at a steady pace, I can dip my toes into some of it! I'll confess, a lot of the soundtrack thus far has kind of flown under my radar thus far, but a few tracks really jumped out at me. You guessed it, this is one of them.
Onto the process! The big challenges here was the same usual stuff: figuring out how to take an orchestral piece, translate it into a heavy metal language, and fill in the gaps. It often in results in a rendition I didn't expect myself to make at first, and I think that's real neat. Fortunately, I'm at a point where that on its own isn't so bad anymore! I did actually fall behind schedule on the leads for this one, taking two days to complete them, but that was more due to regular life-stuff. Still, to keep on schedule the mix was very much rushed, and although I did do some cleanup, there are a couple rough patches here and there. (I also normally like to verify the levels are good by listening to the mix on three systems: studio monitors, my phone, and through headphones. I didn't get to all of that this time.) I hope what I've made is acceptable nonetheless. Outside of that small episode, it was relatively smooth sailing. So, did I do this song justice? Let me know what I did right and what I need to improve in the future!
