The South Shore Line (SSL) is embarking on a
transformative project to realign its station terminus
from the east side of South Bend International
Airport to its western edge. This strategic relocation
is designed to enhance commuter service, reduce
travel times, and meet growing regional demands.
Once completed, this project will cut the commute
between South Bend and Chicago (the third largest
economy in the United States) down to an
impressive 90-minute express service while also
allowing for expanded service capacity.
