Looks like they've chosen the right train for long distance services

I like how the main entrance doors are taped up with hazard tape. Very typical South West Trains.

I love the 444s. Many childhood memories riding those to Bournemouth. Any news on the Phil Sayer Tribute? I suppose this could count as one...
@Luftschlange8 жыл бұрын
+Carol Stott Well it could, maybe I should do one at Waterloo though

Maybe you could do a fade to black and then 'Dedicated to Phil Sayer: 1953-2016'

+Luftschlange this has nothing to do with the trains in this video.. but one week ago I was with my dad...we got off the C and were on our way to see the Franklin Avenue Shuttle..and I looked at the MTA logo outside the r32 stock...and...not to faintly...I could see the original "M" logo fading away under the new "MTA" one! how cool is that!

I’m assuming someone here can answer this…what causes the distinctive twanging noise that occurs twice in quick succession when trains enter a station on these lines? It doesn’t seem to pick up on camera very well, but is extremely noticeable in person.

4:40 - When I was a kid. Standing on the same spot with my back to a loco in the bay/head-shunt behind P1. The old signal-box and relay-room. The sidings where the car-park is now. Thousands of loose bananas lying about from where the wagons were unloaded for Fyffes. The station-master's office at the end, where he'd watch you trying to cab loco's and shout when he caught you. Bunking into the station over the fence from Queen Elizabeth park.

@Luftschlange pitty you didn't film it about a week or so later, the bus at 0:17 would be a brand new one instead, looks much nicer

Thank you for sharing. There are certain times within the day and night that passengers may have to queue for #taxis. Would be helpful to book in advance. #Farnborough #FarnboroughTrainStation #WhereTo?

Why not just build overhead lines, install pantographs, and dismantle the third rail?

Do you get permission to film or do you just hope there will be no security showing up?

+Charles M Yes, indeed! This is what the British Transport Police say: www.btp.police.uk/advice_and_info/travelling_safely/rail_enthusiasts.aspx

Luftschlange So you don't use a tripod?
@Luftschlange8 жыл бұрын
+SimonHellinger No, I don't, it is all shot handheld. If you look carefully, you can see that it's not perfectly stable.

To avoid waiting for #taxis, better to search online whilst on board, type 'taxi in Farnborough Main station" - that will be good for you.
