Give it some more time, BFC for example was just created 6 years ago, that's not enough to develop a fully functioning grassroots system. Yet BFC is already the most professional team in India and the most well managed. Give them some more time to work on their academies and im sure you will see results. There is zero age group mechanism in Indian football, i am not considering the age fraud hero ileague joke of a tournament. Just to state the very basic difference, a top European nation or the likes of top Asean team like Japan, Korea has a system where the clubs are heavily involved at grassroots level. By the time boys in theses country reaches U14 they would have played closely 300 matches. In india it starts at U13 and that too avg games played is less than 30 matches at club level. I am not even touching the case of age frauds which is very much there in Indian age level football.

I don't live in India so I don't really know how the grassroots are going over there, the things I know are from the Internet. Also, yeah age fraud is present in India but its also a problem all over Africa and South East Asia in Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. It's a really big problem that should be solved as quickly and effectively as possible.

Yes age fraud is there across less developed football nation. However in certain countries let's say Nigeria due to large number of teams playing across various age level age fraudsters will be outshined by genuine talents towards the end of youth stage . But in the case of countries where age level tournament are less , the age frauds will be selected Just because of their one time performance and genuine talents will be missed out.

@@rockingdude6 Well the Indian Football Federation should really make every State Federation run its own regional U8, U10, U12, U15, U17 and U19 leagues as well as intra City competitions that could start from U5 categories. And make all teams participate even the small district clubs. Then the AIFF should also make a national U13 , U15, U17 and U19 tournament where the best teams from those intra City and regional tournaments would play. That would give a lot of games to kids from all around India as well as making sure they have the possibility of being scouted by recruiters from bigger teams. Because as you said, 30 games a year Is nothing. Also, implementing the construction of football infrastructure and small fields around different neighbourhoods does also really help since it gives kids the chance to play with their friends and practice a more street football approach and believe it or not that has helped a lot in countries that produce great talents such as France, Brazil or the Netherlands. Go to every poor neighbourhood in France and you will see all the kids hanging out near the small football fields. Same thing happens with Basketball in the US. All the poor neighbourhoods have basketball grounds so kids can hang out over there.

Its not possible to dream big with this level of class. These kids are not even aware of basics. There is a big doubt about the contribution of these ISL clubs in Indian football. Its almost 5 yrs since the grassroot program has started but there is a doubt if these clubs have been able to develop atleast one asian level player. I would rather advice these isl to hire better foreign coaches for the grassroot level instead of hiring old exausted player. We give example of japanese football the way they grew up but i would rather request the indian football federation to learn from bangladesh the way they are working on the grassroot level. ONE THING FOR SURE THESE ISL TEAMS ARE WORTHLESS. NOTHING CAN BE EXPECTED FROM THESE CLUBS. THEY ARE CONCENTRATION MORE ON EARNING MONEY RATHER THAN CONTRIBUTING TO INDIAN FOOTBALL.
