I thought the video was great. I am planning to make the crossing later in the year and being able to see it in the video was extremely helpful. I have no objection at all to someone being helpful and letting me know how deep to expect the water to be. Great video, I couldn't agree less with the previous rather pompous comment. In my view the video was well worth making. Thank you.

Thank you for this very helpful video. To me it is great to be able to see how the estuary looks like and not only on a picture. And also to see a live crossing. I know that you can find a lot of info online and in books. But this video has even more good and relevant information. Some people are also beginner walkers and it is better to have one tip too many than too few. Thank you again for making this video 😊

Really really useful to know what to be wearing (ie shorts) and what to take (sandals, crocs etc and a towel before booting up again). And clips for hooking the walking boots to the backpack if you need keep hands free for poles, for example. Thanks for making this video.

Warning; Tidal times from tidal charts may be in GMT, which means during summer (BST from end of March tot end of Octobre) you have to add one hour to the listed times!! Furthermore do check the times beforehand to avoid being stuck for a long time.

I'm sure this is done with the best of intentions, and I write this with respect to Nicky Bailey, but It is hard to imagine a world in which it is necessary, or even possible, for a quasi government official to tell us that when we wade across a river we should take off our walking boots and if we don't want our shorts to get wet we should roll them up - but here it is. All the information necessary to cross the Erme is on the notice boards and most walkers are likely to have used the SWCP Handbook which also contains the details. The money spent on making what appears to be a purposeless film could have been better spent on protecting/enhancing the National Landscape of which the Erme and its estuary form part. there is no shortage of work that needs to be done, not least addressing the water quality of the river.
