Usually I don't find strong accents relaxing at all (I can't watch British ASMR for example) but Southern Betty warms my heart and puts me right into chill mode 😍

Fantastic! Betty is exactly what I needed and I didn't even know it. I'm a southern girl who's been living in the Mid-Atlantic states for too long. Now those states consider themselves to be a part of the south and I respect that, but they're just not the same as where I grew up. Betty reminds me of a favorite aunt or teacher, that as a child, could mesmerize me for hours in the comfort I found in just by the tone of their voice. Her congeniality and her genuine interest in other people were welcome changes to most of my daily encounters. Her southern vocabulary and slang gave her a sense of authenticity while her use of colloquialisms and inflections were so right on they validated Bette as a true southern lady. I really do miss where I grew up and the courtesy and hospitality of southern people. I am hesitant to admit that even in all that glory, I felt a little cringe at the correct pronunciation of the word naked instead of nekkid. Now, maybe you do say naked in Texas but, I'm from Georgia and I didn't hear the word pronounced correctly until I was 16 or 17 years old and that's only because northern businesses finally decided to recognize the potential and value in the south. Truthfully, I'm not sure that anyone else would even notice. And Betty's accent made the correct pronunciation of the word naked still sound southern as hell. So... Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for all the hard work you put into making this ASMR video so special! I know I'l be watching it over again. 😻💕

5 book limit?? girl, one time I had 27 books on hold for me...took up two of the requested-book shelves...the librarians must've gone home and told their families about me 😂 also I'm glad you mentioned the bargain bin, I think a lot of libraries have them but they aren't usually mentioned in ASMR videos (at least the ones I've seen) 🙂
