I used to live in both Alto Pass and Cobden in the 1970's ... I was actually born in Alto in the 60's. This is a nice video. Brought back a lot of memories of yards l used to mow, and houses I used to live in! Ha ... I wish you had driven through Cobden a little more like you did in Alto ... And, some sound would have been nice. But I applaud the effort and that you posted the video! Thanks a bunch!

It must’ve been quite nice back in the 60s. I agree it would have been nice to drive around Cobden more. Back in 2011, our daughter was attending SIU and I tried to get as much footage as time would allow. I am just now adding the road noise to my videos. I can’t say why I was thinking when I made these videos previously. My guess is I talked out loud, to no one, and didn’t want my voice recorded. Thank you for giving helpful advice. I probably won’t be back to the area again. But, if I do, Cobden will have more footage as I love that area.

Thank you for pointing out the lack of sound. I have no idea what I was thinking 11 years ago. I can only suggest playing some music while watching.

My great-grandfather and his brother were stonemasons and built much of downtown Cobden. It is a uniquely wide mainstream because of the railroad running through it.
