Huff played a game of poker and lost. He turned down at least three extensions including one a few weeks ago. Marshall turned the page and then Huff wanted to return when he saw his only option was to go to Southern Miss. Marshall said no thanks. He was offered the same contract, support staff pool, and NIL collective package that Gibson accepted. All equal or better than what Southern Miss provided. The length of the contract and the buyout were sticking points, which was the case each time they offered an extension. In the end, the Huffs wanted out of Huntington. He's been trying to leave since his first year on the job. Which is fine. I would advise Southern Miss fans that you might want to write his name on the door in pencil.

Thats why Southern Miss went with Hall. Hoping he would win and stay. He couldnt win though. All SunBelt jobs are stepping stone jobs unless you get a coach with ties and even then enough money can make most anybody move

Marshall fans reacting similar to how a lot of us reacted when Fedora up and left for UNC. Not everyone wins in a break up.

As my grandpappy used to say, I don't have a dog in this fight, so here is my opinion. Marshall was spoiled by Doc Holliday, before you yell at me here me out. Doc was a WV native and was at Marshall to stay and was successful, mostly winning seasons and a man that embraced the area, the culture, and school. There was a lot of hard feelings when his contract was not renewed. Huff comes into a somewhat hostile environment because of those hard feelings and, "struggles" in his first season which is understandable, but begins to improve. In watching press conferences with him he just didn't seem to have the charisma that people were used to with Doc. He didn't have the hometown boy feel to him. I don't mean that he was African American. He just did not seem to embrace WV or even the school, to me a lot of what he said seemed forced or just said not felt. It became really noticeable when comparing his introductory speech in comparison to Tony Gibson's. I hear the same thing in his voice in the So. Miss. speech. What I think hurt Huff too was that he was immediately looking to other HC jobs in his first year there. Marshall wanted another Holliday in where the chances were extremely slim in that he would leave, and in Tony they got that. I feel both coaches will be successful, but So. Miss will be looking to a hire another HC in three to four years. @lockedonsunbelt Thanks and keep up the good work.

AND ILL GO AHEAD AND ASURE YOU AT SOME POINT LATER BRAYLON BRAXTON THIS THOUGHT WILL GO THROUGH HIS MIND... "MAYBE I SHOULDVE STAYED AT MARSHALL WHERE I JUST HAD THE KEY 🔑 TO THE CITY BUT THE GRINCH OF CHARLES HUFF TOOK HIS KEY AND PUT IT IN HIS BAG 💰

They got Back at 5am on the Bus from the Championship Game.. i was there.... There ia video of them picking him up on a plane at 9am SO THATS HOW TRASH HE IS.... lets think BACK REMEMBER HOW THEY CAME OUT VS JAMES MADISON... 🤔 THATS WHEN THEY FOUND OUT BEFORE THAT... BECAUSE LOOK HOW FLAT THEY CAME OUT... PEOPLE SAID THEY WANTES TO KNOW WHAT WAS SAID AT THE HALF... WELL NOW WE KNOW... ITS SIMILAR TO THE MOVIE WILDCATS THE 1980 FOOTBALL MOVIE.
