The statement about winter coming back from sunset to 11 am, then it becomes so warm again you start regretting wearing that sweater is basically spring and fall in the southern Appalachian Mountains of VA. It goes from so cold there's frost everywhere to it's so warm you regret choosing your outfit this morning by the time the afternoon rolls around. And there's pollen...lots and lots of pollen. Luckily, very few tornados because even they take one look at us and go, "Oh heck no!" and usually dodge us.

I have often wondered how I'm supposed to tell the difference between a regular roaring wind and a tornado when to me the roaring wind sounds like a train, too. It sometimes makes me nervous when it will suddenly slam into the house and rattle all my windows and make my house groan. What is worse is when those sounds are punctuated with the heavy thud of a tree landing somewhere in my woods in the back or the downing of a tree in one of the neighbors' yards like the one that fell not long ago in the easement between my house and my neighbor's house next door.

I grew up in AL but now live on the opposite end of the country in Oregon, this makes me almost nostalgic lmao very accurate XD it's in the 60s today back around Bham, but apparently it was down around freezing the other day. Out here in East Oregon, we've had snow on the ground pretty consistently since early December and we just had some more come through yesterday lol I've seen more snow here in the last few months than I did my entire life in AL (including that freak spring blizzard in '94, which I'm sure anyone who lived in AL at the time remembers lol)

I think you mean '93 for that blizzard. First time I remember snow as a kid. Thankfully live far enough "north" now (Appalachian foothills) to see snow for a day or two every year.

So TRUE. Literally 80 degrees yesterday after week of lows in 20s and rain galore. Today back to rain and 50degrees mid day. Why is it like three days of spring/ summer and back to rainy winter? Next will be a blizzard for Easter and then green pollen and tornadoes...laundry room confusion is what the South is ALL about!!!

Sounds like Ohio weather lately…was 67 yesterday and then dropped down to 27 last night and only in the 30’s today. I have crocus blooming all over the. Yard and the daffodils, tulips and hyacinths are all about 2” up out of the ground! Come April, we will probably get grapple again and be freezing cold like last year! May the lilac bush blooms and once it and honeysuckle is at its peak, it will get up in the 80’s and kill off the flowers…then it will get cold again. Of course April here kicks off tornado season. Funny thing was the other day I heard them testing to sirens when I was outside…I thought, “ already?”. Love your humor Matt!😎
