Aside from the sugar, doesn’t look too bad. Just a different way to do it that’s all. I’m Jamaican and love our way of doing it, but southern enslaved people also made oxtails and it was passed down to their descendants. Just different, that’s all.

Yes 😂 Jamaicans use browning. Our ancestors did not have access, so sugar is used for browning. I used sugar until my Jamaican neighbor turn me on to browning.

When ALL Black people cook no matter where their from💯. Sis in this video is from DOWN SOUTH, they been eating oxtail as well💯. She had her kitchen clean, her food was seasoned and cooked throughly. Black people mostly EVERYWHERE Also cook Baked Macaroni and chees/ Macaroni pie as well. It might be diffrent recipes but we all still have a link through our DNA. Slavery and white supremacy brought us to diffrent Islands and countries where we also mixed with the native people of those areas yet still keep certain traditions like foods we eat and incorporated diffrent items into the recipes we were familiar with back home from Africa💯...

My mama from Texas and never put so many ingredients in a pot of oxtails. She used Lawry’s, garlic powder, black pepper, onion, green bell pepper, and water to boil. She cooked them down until they were tender and made their own gravy. #setitandforgetit

As an American and southerner , I prefer the carribean version of oxtail , there is more seasoning and vegetables that add flavor basically the only thing we southerner know how to do is make flour gravy and envelope said meat in the gravy carribean style is more creative
