Not gonna lie, I had to grow in order to appreciate this style. Lol. 18 y/o me HATED everything about this style. 🤣🤣🤣 But being older I can appreciate it. Just because this style is a lil more simplistic rudiment-wise....it doesn't mean these cats aren't talented. To be able to drag some of those notes and still be in time is definitely a skill. Also...you'd be surprised at how some of these guys can really chop...
@xaviermarks6313 жыл бұрын

That’s a myth . They play complex rudiments etc . These are marching cadence and songs not supposed to be complex

Right compare them to Cold Steel or MDFS this would be no contest lol I do agree they probably can chop but the material is very simplistic not to mention their horns are good I love their horns the line just doesn’t impress me as much not to mention you’re missing the quints let’s see snare, tenor, quints, tonal basses, drop basses, and cymbals that’s a complete line but I understand swac mainly uses drop basses

the one ok for one thing learn what is garbage and what Isn’t. If you learn to watch videos of them then you would understand. It’s a tradition that dates back to when the Humanjukebox first started. And it doesn’t sound garbage! Especially if you can hear the drums from a very far distance!

Don't know if Southern University had a band camp during the mid 80s when I was in high school, but if they did I wish I would've gone. I played the snare drum at my high school and our marching style was like the HCBU marching bands. I know I would've been a better percussionist being taught by those guys with the Human Jukebox. Nice drums by the way.
