Majority of bands with a single DM will march behind the dancers or majorettes..Southern been marching in this particular traditional-classy style since forever before any other band..some may find it to be boring but this is a legacy and they will not and should not change it because its their style and often high schools and others seems to imitate because their one of the best to ever do it.

When I clicked on the video and saw all of those dark-skinned majorettes I could not believe it was Southern who for my entire life (70 years) has never had anything but light-skinned majorettes. I guess times are changing for the better in some ways.
