DDDN | Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern provinces were "unusually cold" with temperatures reaching 20.5 degrees Celsius
On the morning of February 9, the temperature in Ho Chi Minh City dropped unexpectedly, reaching 20.5 degrees Celsius, making many people feel unusually cold in the middle of February. The cause was strong cold air from the north spreading to the South, accompanied by strong northeast winds. In the Southeast provinces, the lowest temperature recorded was below 20 degrees Celsius, with the lowest in Ta Lai (Dong Nai) being 17.6 degrees Celsius. Cold weather combined with strong winds forced people to wear warm clothes when going out. However, the temperature quickly rose to about 23 degrees Celsius after 8 a.m. when the sun appeared. Forecast for the day, Ho Chi Minh City and coastal areas will have strong winds at level 6-7, rough seas and scattered showers and thunderstorms, need to be alert for tornadoes. The cold air will continue to maintain, causing temperatures in the next few days in Ho Chi Minh City and the South to range from 20-22 degrees Celsius, with the highest being about 32-33 degrees Celsius. In addition, the Northern and North Central regions are still subject to severe and damaging cold, with the lowest temperature commonly ranging from 9-12 degrees Celsius.
