A whole lot of balance issues, tone, timing/tempo issues, articulation, attacks, blaring out wrong notes, intonation issues, blending issues, no color, old book. It was a lot going on. That was just to name is few bro.

Next game it will be the last game in Mumford Stadium while the Jags will take on the University of Virginia-Lynchburg Dragons. They recently lost to Hampton in a blow out. Well that is not important but expect is our last game in Mumford Stadium. After that is Boombox Week!!! Band fans, football fans and alumni get ready for this petty and a dogfight rivalry. This was a great 5th. Both bands definitely kept the challenges coming. I love how AAMU brought a different vibe for the Battle than we would normally see from Alcorn, JSU, etc. AAMU sounded very clean throughout all their song selections and was on point. SU still is bringing the Thunder but found at moments a tad off and got tired at the end. Judging from most of the comments everyone is giving AAMU the small leap and W over SU and I agree. AAMU drumline is sounding much, much, better with the songs and the Z line was all in it. AAMU ain't no hoe this year💪💪 Big ups to both.

Idk how to honestly grade this battle. SU has some minor mistakes that hurt them like the trumpets on Yearning at the beginning, that matters with them hanging over. Then their song selection really needs to just stop cause certain songs sound worse and you can tell when certain sections don’t want to play it but that’s my opinion. As for AAMU, some of the songs were boring but y’all executed and blended well together. Those trumpets are beasts 🔥🔥

Deonte Tyler I’m a fan of all instruments but I played trombone originally. Trumpets are my 2nd favorite instrument and I’ve been around some damn good sections. These dudes just find ways to mess the progress they had up. While this is the strongest they’ve sounded all year, they were sloppy last weekend against Alcorn when they were outclassed by a smaller section, they decided to use the fuel from last week and the talk about them after Crankfest to say they can play but they were selfish all day. They were on the notes but just too much. My bones held it down though

@@cutoffslim2003 this is a hugh problem with their trumpets. Every single year there are a couple selfish ass trumpet players who does this. It's beyond me that these directors are not putting a stop to this. This band has always gotten recognition as a unit. But as you can hear, not anymore. It's all about the individual when it comes to the trumpet section. It may take a change in leadership to keep the tradition in tact. Sad but true.

Let’s just get a little technical. There’s no way aamu sounds like that in person. This KZbin channel lowers the other band to make them sound “high school”. SU is not loud from the other side of the field. (I’m in the band) yes mess up are going to happened but it was something in every song with SU. This channel is bias. This is a tie to me. SU had a better selection and a little more energy. A&M was cleaner and had better execution(why the trumpets hanging over so much?). I like A&M versatile playbook although the arrangements are hit and miss. The SU power is always there but what's going on with the trumpets? The balance is off which is unusual for SU. I was expecting a blowout in favor of SU but A&M stayed with them and was better some rounds.
