On December 7th and 8th, 2024, @TrainNut85 and myself would find ourselves in Knoxville, Tennessee. There, we would meet up with @chendersonrailproductions704, @TheBigBananaRailfan, @BrodieProductions412, and many others. The reason for our visit was to see the 1890 Schenectady-built Southern Railway G-class 2-8-0 "Consolidation" #154 pull the Three Rivers Rambler's Christmas Lantern Express trains. With the flue time on #154 officially running out at the end of the 2024 season, this was the time to see her strut her stuff for the last time for a good while. This would be a first-time chase for @TrainNut85, @chendersonrailproductions704, and myself, making it even more special. Thankfully, for the most part, the chase was fairly easy since the train runs slow for the duration of the trips. The real fun begins just outside of downtown Knoxville near the Three Rivers Trestle where there is a decent grade going towards the bridge, making for some stellar stack talk. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back next year to see #203 run! Be sure to watch in 4K! I hope y'all enjoy!
