Looks great. As usual I’m looking at the user-friendliness of the interface... It’s possibly slightly better than Forger on that count. I notice that the toolbar extends beyond the screen. Does it get tiresome to have to scroll the toolbar to get to the tool you want? I wonder if you’d want an option to show all the buttons at once, even if it has to show them in two columns, or scale them down to show everything at once. At least the subtract button stays at the edge of the screen unlike in forger. Would be good to hear your thoughts on the interface design VS forger.
@SouthernGFX4 жыл бұрын
I just drag the tools I need to the top of the menu. The less used ones go to the bottom. It's not done the same way as Forger you have to dig into the preferences but its there. Solves 95% of the scrolling. Great that you are looking so deeply at the interface.
@nomad85424 жыл бұрын
You can re-order the tool icons to move the most used ones at the top. But you can also show all the items at once by clicking the icon tool on the top corner. It will show them in 5 columns in a square pattern. However if you open one of the top menu it might revert back to 1 column so that the panel doesn't conflict.

i don't have i pad but it seems to me a very nice app even compared to zbrush from the video seems like is quite complete and its only the start ! Only thing you maybe didn't show are UV tools. I would get some small inspiration from new open source programs like dust 3d which i saw some days ago can do some small rigging too and even some small animation to be exported in blender afterwards.

I'll take a look at Dust. Thanks.
@Danimat724 жыл бұрын
@@SouthernGFX Thanks to you ! Dust for now is a very simple app, but some ideas in it are very nice ! Sometimes i think it would be very nice to be able to rig and animate into a sculpting app, lile Zbrush, through an extended Zspheres rigging system, and then possbility to recond movements,. When i saw in dust you can make even very primitive rigging to export in Blender and some little animation within the app, it blew my mind ! Who knows ? this could be a great evolution for DCC apps...

The android version has some OS related issues (don't know if it's the same with iOs). At least with my samsung galaxy tab, android doesn't allow simultaneous stylus and touch input. Using the mask/smooth buttons as modifier buttons instead of toggles doesn't work like I would have liked. I also find interaction a bit awkward in general because you have to move the stylus away from the tablet by ca. 2 cm before you can use your other hand to interact with the ui/navigate with gestures.

Hi, this is an amazing app but I'm having some issues and there is no support online yet! I am new at 3D modeling and I'm having a hard time seeing materials when importing into blender. I tried both, exporting as .obj and .gltf (actually came out as glb) and neither worked. The .obj file shows the material in the preview but I can't see it in Blender. I feel like I might be missing a step to be able to see it. I would really appreciate any guidance. For some context, I am moving the asset to blender for rigging and animation. Anyone here coming from Zbrush to tablet sculpting on this or Forger?(more this than Forger because I wouldn't touch an Apple tab) How is the experience? Is it a finger smudge fest or can you use a Wacom-like stylus? Was looking to get a new tablet. I have an ancient dust collector Galaxy Tab 4. Would that even run one of these sculpting programs? Also, are the navigation controls customisable? I've been using Zbrush since v1.52b :D so I envision a lot of frustration 'de-programming' my brain to adopt a new sculpting navigation paradigm.
@SouthernGFX4 жыл бұрын
It’s not a huge change from ZBrush to be honest but it’s obviously not close to the toolset and functionality that ZB gives you. I started with ZBrush in 1999 with.85 alpha so I felt the same when I first thought about using a tablet for sculpting. I use procreate for sketching more than photoshop now and I switch easily between them.

@@SouthernGFX I remember you, mate. You were one of the blokes I followed for modeling tutorials back in the old 'text based tutorial' days. ;) Yes, I'm sure it's doable alright, but a problem I had when I decided to learn Blender's sculpting tools was the differences between the nav with Zbrush. I ended up rejigging the entire Blender hotkey system just to mimic Zbrush's right click navigation! Still, Zbrush is hard to beat. I have this phone: Brand: OUKITEL. Model: K13 PRO. Operating system: Android 9.0. Battery: 11,000mAh (5V/6A quick charge, fully charge in 2H 20min) CPU: MT6762 (Helio P70) Otca-core Chipset 64-bit 2.0GHz. RAM: 4GB; ROM: 64GB (microSD up to 128GB) Display Size: 6.41 inches FHD + (1560*720) Camera: Rear camera: 16MP + 2MP; Front camera: 8MP. The specs looks somehow decent, but trust me the phone is pretty lame, but for entertainment videos and music it is enough, tried the Sculp+ and it was horrible, really tough to make consistent strokes. However with this Nomad it was pretty smooth even got pretty high with the subdivisions and it was ok, takes a bit more time to remesh but it is a good experience, the only thing is that it is hard with fingers hence I am thinking to get the new Samsung Tab S7+ as it comes already with a Pen and I just want the tablet to use for entertainment and to sketch with Nomad!!!! Came in a good time your video I was close to get back to apple but I hate the overpriced hardware!!!

Also, if you're on an iPad you can use the standard screenshot combo =) Hold Powerbutton + click the Home Button

They are both good Garrett, I know I enjoy sculpting with both so it is worth trying Nomad as well.
