This week, I went to see the Baxter monument and the church he preached at in Kidderminster. Can’t wait to read his book...the saints everlasting rest.

Baxter was a remarkable man. I can recommend a visit to Kidderminster - there are many things to see from his day. Was Baxter a Puritan as we now use the term? He was a Christian and denominational descriptors are difficult to apply to him.

Baxter was not sound in his doctrine of justification. John Owen wrote a book against his view. One of many papers you can read on this is : Not By Faith Alone, the Neonomianism of Richard Baxter by Michael Brown. The Heidelblog also has articles concerning this.
