Imo trippier, foden and kane are deadweights to the team. Let's say kane and foden might have one brilliant moment, but trippier? Average player that is already played out of position, why insist on having him play?

I see the point, and I’m no Southgate fan, but international football is about pragmatism. That’s why France have had success - very few teams that win big tournaments play the best football, they just have the best players who figure out how to win. Yes tactically Southgate isn’t great, but winning tournaments is about having big moments and defending solidly. We did those things so much better in this game, and yes we need to be more on the front foot, but I know who I’d pick to score a last minute winner out of Kane and Toney…
