One wrong move and you might not be able to walk ever again. On another note how long do you think the average player stays in the sport before retiring or being kick out for no longer being good? Less than 10 years. Hell some of them be lucky enough to play 5. Had guy who I went to school with get into the NFL and he only lasted 4 years. He mainly played special teams for the Vikings but he had suffered a cuncussion, 2 back injuries and a torn acl. He is still suffering from the back injuries even today.

The connection has already been made, quite scientifically. There is a whole lab in Boston dedicated to examining the brains of dead football players. The truth is that as a society, we love football, specifically its collision aspects, so much that we're willing to pay good money to watch guys get smacked in the head so badly that their brains get messed up on a permanent basis.

After watching this ep, I started reading up legit sources to find out more about it. As a ravens fan who grew up with an amazing dad that live and breathed football, it sucks to find out that 110/111 brains they examined have CTE. Not even just at the professional level either, they did a test on college players that didn’t even go professional, and 94% of them have it. Sports are dangerous. Cars are dangerous, but we drive anyway- but it really gets you thinking, can we really be okay with supporting young men playing football when the risk of permanent brain damage is 50%.
@bcubed724 жыл бұрын
Well, okay, but what percentage of average males who live a somewhat adventurous life have CTE upon death? It's a new diagnosis; maybe it's way more common than we thought!
@clawabidingcitizen4 жыл бұрын
Adventurous? Getting repeatedly tackled and concussed several time a year isn't adventurous, it's chronic brain injury. What other activity results in this? Besides boxing, for obvious reasons. Chronic brain trauma isn't a normal part of an adventurous lifestyle.
@bcubed724 жыл бұрын
@@clawabidingcitizen You clearly failed to comprehend what I wrote. Heck maybe YOU have CTE?
@terrybird9934 жыл бұрын
tbh, CTE can vary is severity... from being little forgetful all the way to becoming a paranoid psychopath thats needs to murder his friends and family... so... CTE is really easy to get... also, like every single european footballer or anyone that plays football(soccer in NA) has CTE from impact with the ball using their head.
