Terrorism - an act or idea designed to invoke or create a feeling of terror. The children and adults in Southport would have been terrified as that attack happened. It was an act of terrorism, whichever way you shake it up.

If it was just an act of violence that causes fear or terror in it's victims then most murders, and indeed most acts of violence would be terrorism, and this is clearly not how the term is used. However, there was a report which claims that Rudekabana had been heard telling classmates that he wanted a white genocide to occur. That could be considered an Ideological aim, and this certainly appears to be him commiting a murderous act to further that aim. If the report is true then I am not sure why they seem so keen to say he isn't a terrorist.

When Bretvik did the killings in Norway back in 2011, certain media sources described Bretvik as an individual with terror like tactics. Why ?
