Southwest Meteorite Center - Overview

The SWMC is located at the University of Arizona, Tucson. It privately owned my Marvin and Kitty Killgore. The collection is not not currently open to the public but they are looking for opportunities to use the collection for promoting STEM education, space exploration, and mission awareness.

I found one here in Butte Montana its a magnetic meteorite its size is 5" long 4" tall 3" thick it has a shell sheet on one side a melted area on another side it has directional wind lines all over it and for its size its alot heavyer than it looks a regular rock the same size is a feather my meteor is 10 times heavyer im willing to send pictures of it also my price for this outer world gem is 1 million $ it weighs 10 pounds .

I saw a meteorite fall and got to pick that same meteorite up with my own hands i officially feel accomplished got a full stone it’s small but I’m happy. This is a nice collection but I feel like cutting the rock ruins the meteorite.

I have a specimen that is so dense it is over 66 on density but it's not magnetic it appears to have quartz in it the weight is all most 4 pounds. Any ideas on what I might have wit it being more dense than what they say a meteo is supposed to be.

My university has one meteor hanging by a chain on display. It looks like just a rock until you try to lift it. It has such a high iron content I could barely lift it.
