Such a wonderful message. Spurgeon had wonderful insight into the true nature of our heavenly Father. God is merciful and quick to forgive, but also a righteous Judge. We all deserve wrath, but in Christ alone (by grace) there is salvation.

If preachers preached like this in our generation, more people would come to God.
@travelsouthafrica50489 ай бұрын
Sadly we have even better preachers than him today , far better and with far better insight , believe me it is not the preaching that is the problem , it is the fact that most people would rather listen to the uninformed opinions of a comedian like Ricky Gervais than listen to informed Christians like Prof Gary Habermas or the brilliant work of Dr Subodh Pandit , Prof James Tour , and preachers like Pastor Mike Winger and John McArthur to name but a few. They do not seek the truth instead they seek to be entertained , thinking of God as a genie or jester that must bow to their silly whims

I have to think you missed a something in this. It's not in anyone to just come to God by themselves. It's up to God who will come. As simple as that is it's hard for men to grasp.
@travelsouthafrica50488 ай бұрын
@@vikingskuld you are correct however one must preach in such a manner that it is acceptable , for even the elect would not accept a message from God if incorrectly given , a messenger's job is to give the message correctly and completely , or the messenger will be held responsible

@@travelsouthafrica5048 have to agree that's why I pointed out what I did. I also would appreciate it if someone called me out on stating something in a way that could confuse others. Thanks again

@@vikingskuld I didn't correct you , you are correct , I was just making sure everyone reading it didn't get the idea that they were off the hook when it comes to preaching and apology and making sure they got the message correctly and delivered it correctly In fact many did not , it is the reason I had to write a book the past two years addressing all this misinformation and incorrect information going about causing a lot of confusion

Rom 11:1 I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. Rom 11:2 God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew.
@rolysantos Жыл бұрын
Correct, and Paul was one of those people whom God "Foreknew," as he explained in Romans 8. Remember "Not all who are Israel are Israel." ONLY those whom God "foreknew," will ultimately come to faith and are the TRUE "Israel of God," and sons of Abraham by faith. Israel was hardened *IN PART* meaning there was a part (like the Apostle Paul) who were not hardened.

Isreal is God's earthly people, The Body of Christ is God's Heavenly people, After the Rapture God will go back to dealing with the Children of Isreal. Jacob's Trouble has to be fulfilled, Daniel 9 70th week. Plus If God cast aways Isreal we might as well throw the Bible away. We could have no confidence in its validity. But oh Isreal is still the apple of God's eye and He will rule from Jerusalem ✝️✝️✝️

The Christian journey is one of repentance and repentance and repentance; the Christian life is one of Grace upon Grace upon Grace. [...or, not.] Repentance is two-tiered, the potential recipient turns away from their fatalistic approach to life, the Spirit of God turns them towards Himself to complete the process via conviction, godly sorrow & remorse, forgiveness, and deliverance. It's not necessary for someone to fulfill the fleshly lusts of their intellectual mind by disseminating what part if any, prevenient Grace plays in their turning away from self. God is not bound by the exactness of our theology. (Neither does He allow himself confined to only one denomination or mortal.)

I struggle with the saying that God cast away the Jews. He has designated the time of the gentiles but there will be a time when all Israel will be saved. How can we claim the election of God yet condemn the Jews for not accepting their messiah and say they are gone for good?

It’s like a family that has both biological and adopted kids and god let’s things happen to teach us I started to fall away but god brought Christian’s around me and things are falling apart there’s a high chance I will be homeless at the end of the month but it showed me that as long as I have air in my lungs I am blessed

You must keep in mind that the Jews see it this way , that if a Jew converts to Christianity he is no longer to be considered a Jew , he is ostracized. So many former Jews were saved in fact but they are no longer called or considered to be Jews by the Orthodox Jews So in that sense the Jews are condemned by their own tradition , this is strangely a concept that also applies to other condemned people CS Lewis correctly said in his book "Mere Christianity" Hell will be locked from the inside. It is not so much a matter of God condemning the Jews as it is a matter of the Jews rejecting God by not accepting His prophesied Messiah Jesus
