God has been convicting me of where my treasure is, and how if anyone does not renounce all that he has, he cannot be Christ's disciple. This song has helped me to express and focus my heart towards that end. The first verse says "greatest treasure of my longing soul" and goes on to explain why that is so....God has used the writer of this song to help me.

The first time I heard this song I was drywalling it came on a playlist I was listening to. I had to stop work and stand there and listen...i felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in the room affirming every word . I kept replaying throughout the day. Wonderful lyrics and easy to sing along with. Great truths proclaimed, giving all the praise and glory to our Lord and God. So uplifting. In verse four, 'My song when enemies surround me'.. Brings to mind Paul and Silas singing praises while chained and sitting in filth. (Acts 16). I often wonder if I could sing with so much gusto whilst going through a trial like that.... But that's foolish talk.... I'm convinced the Lord would give we his followers sufficient strength to do so. Praise His name..Thankyou Lord Jesus....indeed name above all names.
