We have the sovider the same model just smaller. It's fantastic, use it often, produces lots of juice, waste is fairly dry, and it's so simple to wash. We love it. I even brought one for my daughter this year for Christmas. One Grapefruit, two large oranges, and a small cube of ginger makes a full tumbler of delicious juice.

Thanks for sharing! That's great to hear. Because the base is so light this is the juicer I travel with now so it makes it great for that as well. 😁

The Namas auger is also spiked so it really grinds well and leaves a very very dry pulp. It also allows for sorbets. I have a very similar juicer to the one you’re reviewing and on amazons category for slow masticating juicers it’s rated highest, but ultimately many of them have similar manufacturers. They are strong but I don’t think they are as strong as the Nama. That auger is just very well made and serrated/barbed for lack of better words.

Thank you for the review! Your is the only one I was able to find anywhere for this particular juicer. I just bought it based on your review. I got it on Amazon for $150 - was able to use coupon $45 off, which was super great deal. I do like this juicer - it is super quiet, amazingly easy to clean and assemble. The pulp is little bit on the wet side, but I would say that the difference in the amount of juice you can still squeeze out of the pulp versus super dry pulp is really minimal. There's some pulp in the juice - more than I used to have when using my old $99 juicer (also slow, masticating type), but it can be easily resolved if you use a strainer, or you can just leave the pulp in. Overall I think it is great juicer for the price, considering it is self feeding juicer and the design and performance are similar to high end juicers that are priced much higher.
@CrystalDawnCulinary11 ай бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! You can also put the pulp back in and run it through to get more yield. And I always use a small strainer for my juice to strain the pulp. Enjoy!
@crystalglowdesign596211 ай бұрын
Crystal, yes, I tried to put the pulp back through the juicer but it did not do much - it probably means that the pulp is dry enough and has very little juice left in it. I found out that the only more "pulpy" juice is grapefruit/orange/pineapple combo. Other juices has acceptable amount of pulp in them. I also found out that NOT cutting the fruits and vegetables too much works better for this juicer. @@CrystalDawnCulinary

Is there a need to remove apple cores? My old Omega 'model something or other' easily spits out seeds with pulp.

I brought two sovider juicers, both the smaller model. (Exactly the same just smaller and finished in dark green) The first one I brought for £100.00, the second on ebay using the bidding option, and got it for £44.00! (Yep I am from England) So well pleased, as it's a great little juicer.

Great informative and practical video Dawn, thank you for your expertise. I do have one question, does the sovider juice bananas as well as the Nama J2? I was so excited finding your video after researching the sovider that I somehow went and ordered 2 straight away, a smaller 150w one and a larger (I think) 250w one! Both an absolute steal too. Can't wait to receive them, thanks again

Is the pulp as dry? Is the yield as high? Can you walk away from it like a Nama? You said it takes a bit longer for it to process the produce - how much longer? I'm reading the Amazon reviews and people are mentioning that it can't juice grapes and that it has a bit of trouble with fibrous produce like melon and celery. There are no bad reviews for it though.
@CrystalDawnCulinary Жыл бұрын
Thanks for all the good questions! For the price it's very good, I mean it's only $150 instead of $600 so most people can invest in a cold-pressed juicer. You can walk away from it for longer because it does take longer to crush the produce. The pulp was almost as dry, I should have shown my juice from the Nama because I just the night before I made the same juice in my Nama with the same qty of produce and it was almost exactly the same, like off by only a few tbsps I want to say. I didn't try melon or grapes but if it can do beets and greens and them I'm sure it can do most produce just fine. But as I mentioned for a cold-pressed masticating juicer with a hopper, it's a very good deal and not everyone can afford these high-end juicers. Hope that helps!
@koalamama2 Жыл бұрын
Oh that is really helpful! Your video was already very convincing, and now I feel totally convinced. I know SO many people who can't afford the Nama. This is great! Thank you!

Also One thing I've noticed between the the Nami J2 and the Original Nama is that the Original Nama just juices better and leaves a lot less in the hopper as compared to the J2
@CrystalDawnCulinary Жыл бұрын
so interesting thanks for sharing!
@curtflirt2 Жыл бұрын
@@CrystalDawnCulinary It is!! If the original wasn't so cumbersome to clean, I would be using it right now. The J2 leaves too many Pomegranate seeds in the hopper, my apples aren't fully chopping up and so on so forth. With the original, it Absolutely turned those seeds into shreds

Hi Helene, as it says in the description it's only available for Amazon.com not on the CDN site. Are you on Amazon.ca? You can order from Amazon US but then you have to pay import fees and taxes.
@missbiggs9437 Жыл бұрын
Update: never mind, I just looked on Amazon and with taxes this’ll roughly cost around C$350 with no warranty unless you pay extra to buy from Amazon! The J2 cost around C$770 plus taxes; I’d rather wait and save up for it and it’s 15-year warranty! The other thing, all the Amazon reviews (18) are from Vine Customers for free products … I tend not to trust any of them. So, would you (happily) switch from the Nama to this one?
@sharankatta Жыл бұрын
Hi there, nama is having black Friday sakes and $80 off on all their models and j2 original price is 550 right?
@marlow7562 Жыл бұрын
Gosh that's £207.13. Look for the small model, exactly the same but unit is dark green. They are cheaper, but then I am from the UK, brought my first one for £100.00, then brought one for my daughter on ebay using the bidding option, and got it for £44.00. But have seen my model advertised for approximately £200.00 here in the UK. You need to shop around a bit more. Extremely surprised considering American and Canadian electrical goods are normally a lot cheaper than in the UK. And ask your self do you really need the larger one?

Is there any fruit/veg left in the hopper when done?
@marlow7562 Жыл бұрын
Yes, but not much. And it rinses out easily. In fact everything raises out easily. I tend to use a paper towel to wipe the actual machine top, as sometimes some juice is left on it. Dishwasher safe to give it a deep clean every now and then.

@marlow7562 Жыл бұрын
Just rinse it under your tap, (faucet, I'm English) It comes with what I would describe as a large tooth brush to help clean the holes out, but we find that if you rinse it straight away the brush is not needed. And sometimes a paper towel is needed to wipe the top of the actual machine unit. But then we love citrus fruit drinks, so haven't used it for vegetables as yet. It's also dishwasher safe for a deeper cleanse.
