The KV-1 (ZiS-5) is a rank III Soviet heavy tank with a battle rating of 4.7 (AB) and 4.3 (RB/SB). It was introduced during the Closed Beta Test for Ground Forces before Update 1.41. This KV-1 introduces a new armament, the ZiS-5, that has a much stronger punch than the L-11 from its predecessor while retaining the same armour.
This tank is very similar to its predecessors, but mounts the same gun of the T-34 (1942) sharing its ability to fire APCR shells. The player should feel at home once going through the KV-1 (L-11), and while not as fast as the KV-1S, it maintains more armour all-around. The gun may be lacking on penetration unless using APCR shells, its velocity is poor (makes it harder to aim in Realistic Battles), but will do plenty of damage once penetrated and reloads quite quickly. The armour is outstanding when angled. With extra 25 mm spaced armour at the front of the hull results in a total of over 100 mm of armour. The tank can take a lot of damage from lower ranks and still survive the battle. The turret remains vulnerable, however, but the turret ring is reinforced, which means that it's harder to jam the turret.

Even when those Sherman's are angeling properly they have an unfair advantage to someone who perfectly exploits the number one flaw in that tanks design. You're to good. Amazing gameplay once again.

Well, you can't really play this tank in AB in such a cheeky way as top dog here. You'll get 76mm M4s, M18s, German packs of L/48s, or, if you have to play a moving target - common as F2P - M36s, L/70 guns and Soviet big boys. In AB the KV-1S much better than this tank!

@@Spike95Rus Sometimes yes, sometimes not. Unfortunately, the other game modes don't show enough to be taken seriously - the maps are the same sh1t, the vehicle and damage models are the same... and sometimes I can't even detect a difference in mentality. If I don't have high expectations, then AB can sometimes be quite fun - in its own way.

Honestly dude , i usually just carry 18-20 shells of aphebc and nothing more since more than that makes my anxiety worse, not like you should too but yeah

Деды рулят! Это мы так в тундре наши советские танки называем. Да без УВН, да без задней скорости. Но при умении - работают, и хорошо работают. А как КВ-1 забрал самолет...Это шедевр! Лайк!
