The Soviets were breaking away at will for the first 15 minutes, but things began looking better for England with that fine equalising goal. @2:26 an excellent John Barnes cross almost resulted in a second for England; the final result may have been very different had this gone in. Barnes was often moaned about for not being as dazzling for England as he was for Liverpool, but here he shows his excellent crossing in a big game, just as he did when he put two excellent balls into the box for Lineker against Argentina in '86 (Lineker of course put one away and narrowly missed the second chance). @4:04 another good chance for a second England goal; at first I thought it was just the spin on the ball changing its course upon contact with the ground that wrong footed Bryan Robson, but the second action replay shows that it was in fact a shove from the defender - it should have been a penalty. To rub salt into the wound number 20 (according to the internet) was Pasulko, an early 2nd half substitute who would later score the third goal. @6:50 a bit unlucky here too, we were marginally onside (going by the position of the last defender's rear foot), but of course in real time it is hard for the linesman to spot that.

Timaço da União Soviética. Infelizmente a equipe chegou já combalida 2 anos depois no mundial de 90 em virtude do início do colapso soviético.

Observem que a camisa da União Soviética tem o mesmo design e estampa da camisa da Holanda nessa mesma competição. Curiosidade apenas a camisa da Holanda é que ficou marcada na história.
