A vanilla AI wouldn't position like that or go actively looking for crates. A Yuri early game still needs to have some kind of army, they can't just fast tech to their Spire because they can be really easily cheesed, all-inned, or just out-macroed that way.

Most Yuri players don't bother with Lashers unless they are rushing. Gattling + Magnetron + Masterminds are a balanced force with few weaknesses.

It saves time if you're wanting to build tanks but also need an extra miner like they were. You end up paying 300 more for the Miner, but it can be worth it because it saves you a lot of time.
