@Jagd Panther even with that, having equal life as 90%+ of people in ussr, having free healthcare, free university, most families getting free apartments, having almost free public transport, equal rights for men and women, organic and healthy food (even tho some of them were distributed not equally among whole state) and many other things is really good time to live in. And those are first things that come to mind. Ussr always had really optimistic feeling about it, country was superpower, in 50s 60s even beating usa and others in space race, nuclear race, sport and since achievements. Live for common people in 60s 70s was amazing if they didnt scream about equality and bad things about government. And please dont think it was anywhere close to north korea today.. We might find similarities between stalin ussr and n korea now, but after his regime over, destalinisation was really good thing and changed soviet union to better. Ofc it could have been even better, like yugoslavia that had not so strict laws and still kept most of good things of communism/socialism.

it was always fascinating to us here in America...an odd parallel society far far away...Space City, Cosmonauts, Dostyoyevsky, Soviet Cinema, all of it... even had a photo coffee table book: "A day in the life of the Soviet Union" and read the funny odd magazines in the college library world history section while listening to IPOD as it rained outside the magazine? "soviet life" the USSR version of the US magazine "Life" magazine...:) quite fascinating...the human story of it all :)

Does anyone here have any idea on how I can purchase the music of these artists. I love their music and want to make sure they get the royalties they're due. This whole genre makes me nostalgic for the year I worked with Soviet scientists on joint US-Soviet and space projects. Good times thanks to the ability of science to bridge ideologies and bypass politics.

Anthony Castelletto Music was written in ussr times so I guess no any artists are still alive and if they are alive - they dont have any royalties cause they done this music during soviet times when there wasnt any capitalistic things like royalties and contracts. If u wanna have more music like this u need to find Martin Landers. He was first Dj on ussr radio who started to play music in this style so has huge collection and info. He is about 65 old and you can find his dj sets on youtube. His radio show “Back to the universe” goes on russian radio every week. He is one of elders of russian electronic music.

Кирилл 228 с чего ты взял, что это все современное? в 80х подобная музыка уже была, то есть эмбиент и эмбиентдаб и т.д. в 80х появилась радио передача «Оранжевое настроение» , в которой транслировалась подобная музыка, ведущий Мартин Ландерс , в дальнейшем , в 90х он запустил продолжил свою передачу под другим названием Back to the universe” на радио Станция 106,8. bamboodream I’m not sure that all tracks from soviet times but some of them yes. There was one radio stream in 80s on soviet radio with this type of music. Dj is Martin Landers, he still plays as Dj and his radio stream has name Back to the universe. I guess his age more than 60.
