As one of the people that specifically asked for a video like this, I haven't even watched it fully yet, but I already appreciate you making it!

Now I've watched it. I've got a way better understanding now of how it all goes together etc. When I do this myself now, I can have this video queued up and follow it through as I'm doing the steps, that's hugely helpful, and I'll have a better idea of what I'm doing too now... Or should I say I'll have lot less doubt that I'm doing it wrong. Actually seeing you work through it, rather than just talking about it helped a lot, in regards to my understanding and confidence, especially as you kept to one subject, and additionally your explanations in this video were far better, far more detailed, and easier to understand I felt. The previous video seemed to rely on an assumed level of knowledge a lot more, whereas this one, pretty much anyone regardless of experience can follow. I'm sorry that it took you 10hrs, but if it's any consolation, it was 10hrs that achieved far more in 30mins in terms of explaining everything, than the live stream did in 3hrs.

Thanks for your work. I don't own an SV08 yet but your work to make it a better printer is appreciated. I have not made up my mind on which Voron printer to purchase. I want to be able to upgrade to a tool changer in the future. The Troodon 2.0 is very close to a Voron 2.4 in specs but is more expensive than the Sovol. Again thank you. I enjoy your videos and appreciate the amount of time it takes for you to create them.

@@nadir3D That was the question I was coming here to fin out, as I have ordered a SV08, and your work is by far the most amazing I have seen in the SV08 community, and one of the reasons that I decided to order, eventually I will take on the Xenomorph build :D, but until then I'll be looking for v4, thank you again for your work sir!

@nadir3d Thanks so much for the much shorter video. Too bad I got it all working before this came out. Any chance you can do a shorter one on the software configuration side? I am still having an issue with the Probe Attach, where it does it's impression of a Major League batter. I hit the Probe Attach button and it smacks the probe into out the stands!

Saw your video on the eddy probe (great work by the way as always). Been meaning to ask, for either the clicky or the eddy, does one must use mechanical endstoos or does the factory sensor less homing work ? Essentially I’d like to keep it as is with the exception of the Z probing. Want to take advantage of the eddy or the clicky. Thanks again!.
@nadir3D3 ай бұрын
Lets put this out of the way With klicky is hard to use sensor less. no matter what probing solution you use we recommend to use fiscal switch for the X and Y endstop for more accuracy ( if you will ever want to print 2 color at the same time you will need to be in the same spot!) Klicky is has the advantage that it is not affected by the temperature It can probe any type of surface, glass, steel, wood, cardboard, anything. when you are printing it is out of the way. it costs less than 5 dollars and even you can make it with spare parts. the only down side of it is that is slow. and every time you want to measure/probe something you need to dock it and undock it a thing that for me is very satisfying to watch but it is a little bit time consuming. Eddy it it FAST! hand down! Eddy doesn't need to be docked and undocked. It is sensitive to temperature this is why we recommend the usb version that it has the temperature compensation. If you use it like a normal probe not to use the Rapid scan function it is still faster then klicky just because you don't need to dock it and undock it it cost a little bit more you will need mainline klipper to can use it hope that i made it clear.

@@nadir3D first off, thank you for the long and detailed explanation. Yes it does answers my questions. I have bit the Eddy USB and a clicky so right now was looking for one that I could use to replace the current factory probe. I tried flashing the eddy going through the guide and it seems it flashed as I can detect the MCU when connected. I didn’t know I couldn’t use the Sovol klipper version for the eddy so that’s disappointing. Seems I’ll have to either go mainline or set up the end stops. I recall you either mentioning on a video or a comment somewhere that you were planning to release configurations for either? Again, thank you so much

if you try to print a big part using all the table the rear fan won't hit the dockstation?
@nadir3D3 ай бұрын
I have never printer more than 340x340 i don't like to risk it. otherwise we are almost releasing Xenomorph and the V4 for this project that they use different approach for klicky and docking so it will not be anymore a problem ;)

Look like Sovol where thinking about using a BL Touch, it has the label for the inductive probe.
@nadir3D3 ай бұрын
Bl touch uses 5v the port has 24v. But you could take 5v from diferent pin.

You need to modify the firmware to be clear right?
@nadir3D14 күн бұрын
you don't need mainline klipper for this. you just need to add the new configs that are provided to your existing firmware. ( copy and paste some lines in your printer.cfg)

Appreciate all your work, even though I actually watched your 3 hour video all the way through several times! I was able to install all the pieces without issues, but I've had nothing but problems getting everything working. The only thing that worked correctly for me was the LED. The x endstop didn't seem to be working at all. And I never got klicky to successfully attach. I checked continuity the same way you did, and it worked correctly. I also double checked to make sure all the parts of the printer.cfg matched what you have in the printables and your video. I think I need to study Klipper documentation more fully, and then try it again. One question...In printer.cfg, you replaced the 'homing override' with new code. But there is also that code in klicky-macros.cfg. Does it need to be in both places?
@nadir3D3 ай бұрын
for the Klicky macros you need to download the zip file i have attached in printables or directly from the github. all that files should be in a folder called klicky if you didn't put all that files in /klicky folder it will not work! Current path:/config/klicky In the Current path:/config/printer.cfg you need to include this [include ./klicky/klicky-probe.cfg] and in the Current path:/config/klicky/klicky-variables.cfg here you need to modify the docking location and the printer x and y max accordingly kzbin.infoXiKk49bJryE?si=pNlqgGiP7wWl1H_d&t=5733 as this specific time i modify the klicky config
@NorthTXMountainbiker3 ай бұрын
Thank you for the reply. I have already created config/klicky and put the klicky macro files in there, and made that change in printer.cfg.
