I had a bad experience, since studied in an English School in the early 60' n birth I lived in the city where everyone in my neighbourhood speaks English, even the Malays n even at home due to that I lost touch of Tamil speaking n whenever I speak, people teased me. However when we shifted over to Banting in the early 80's i had a hard time speaking Tamil as most at that time of point spoke Tamil n the place where i stay most of them I Tamil speaking. I was almost bullied everyday, some thought I m acting n my father has to come to my rescue to inform those who bullied me that I m not well verse in Tamil. Only then they all understood n stopped bullying me. Today I speak good tamil, tks the Banting.

I agree that this video probably relatable for most of the people out there...good job guys...but there are still some people who are very proud that they don't know tamil / they are not from tamil school and so on...I personally know many people in my life...I don't say those who don't know tamil should be ashamed of themself...but don't be so proud of yourself that you unable to speak your mother tounge...atleast try to speak whatever tamil you know sometimes...from 72000 million....now only 7000 million people speaking tamil all around the world....Go google yourself...what is the oldest language in the world ? This comment not for everyone...siapa makan cili dia akan rasa...English pesunalum Tamilanda ❤ #happydeepavali

Wrong message: Language defines tradition. Literature defines heart of a culture. You learn Shakespeare and can't have a 10, 000 year old Tamil traditions, defines in Sangam Tamil Literature. Language defines your boundary, where language stops, where your identity stops too.. Tamil is a literature rich language, respect the classical language of the world by pronouncing it correctly. Long live Classical Language, Tamil!

I guess the effort to speak or atleast understand Tamil goes a long way... why is it that u can’t find a single Chinese that doesn’t know Chinese (unless they’re adopted) but can find plenty of Indians that duno Tamil? Time to relook into ur roots... 🤟🏽😊 Ps: Besides my Tamil is horrible too but am proud that I can understand and still speak broken Tamil.. haha
@rinashant48275 жыл бұрын
Kash Silvam It’s up to individuals if they wanna carry their language down their generations... I’m just sayin it’ll be good if they do... it’s nothing to do with race dude I have no comment over those who dun know their native language- that’s their problem

You could be Indian even if you can't speak tamil well. You could be indian even though you were not in tamil school. But why not learn your mother tongue language kan ?

Well, it is not wrong to take an effort to learn our mother tongue... Instead teasing those people... Better teach them how to speak, read and write in Tamil which would help them to learn more about our culture...

that is an erroneous message mate, makesure when u send out a message it is valid and credible. when u kill a language u will kill their identity, the race will never exist ur traditions are enbeded impregnated..encoded in ur language which is generated , observed and exhibited either in a written-oral or visual forms. If your parents fail to teach ur native language .. that's not ur fault but If u r born healthy with intellectual mind and or literated and sensible, yet if u fail to find ur roots and fail to learn ur native language .. that is ur fault stop blaming stop whingying .. whether ur native language is Tamizh, Telugu, Kannada, Tulu, Kodagu, Malayalam...Korean, ..Andromeda or other galaxy languages ... attempt to learn them meticulously.. diversity makes the world beautiful and contributes to the intellectual growth of the mankind....
