Everything Everywhere All At Once and My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday are my two favorite movies! I was so surprised when you mentioned them both. I couldn't stop crying when I watched them (and I was going to cry from just remembering them as you described it 🥺)

Since I am also a gay person with chinese immigrant parents, I thought Joy was just like me. Seeing her struggle with her problems with hersf and her family, even if her situation wasn't exactly like mine, made me feel a strong sense of kinship as I've also been through the same kind of problems. The feeling of love their family had in the entire movie, even if they were almost always upset at each other, was something that made me have to stop the movie a lot so I can cry.

I have to compliment your use of the word "blooping" in your translation. I'm a native English speaker and I've never heard that word used (I've heard "blooper," which is another form of the word). You absolutely used it correctly! I know you're still learning English, but you're clearly doing well if you used such an uncommon word.

Why wouldn't an American comedy be funny to a Korean? I mean, I know humor can be culturally different don't get me wrong, but I've watched lots of Korean stuff with comedy that I found funny. Why wouldn't that be the reverse. 🤔 Is it mainly just in that particular movie? Everything Everywhere All at Once?

Thank you for sharing your favourites. 모럴센스 (Moral Sense / Love and Leashes) (2022) (Kinky romantic comedy. This isnt really nc-17 but certainly has plenty of adult themes) Arcane (2021) (western fantasy anime of a family that is divided over a misunderstanding. The animation has a unique grunge quality. Both hand drawn and CGI, Arcane has a strong visual which no AI could come close to, without committing IP theft. If you don’t play Legue of Legends, you can still watch this independently, because the story is decent enough, 3.5/5 for story. I’m here for the artistry and love that the second season is confirmed - not words I say lightly.) (Personally I enjoy Studio Ghibli more but can get behind this kind of anime.) 쎄시봉 (C'est si bon) (2015) (A history inspired musical drama based on the Seoul lounge from the 70s, C'est si bon. This music lounge was attended by the duo, Twin Folio, which is where the film follows. Naturally some liberties were taken to tell a modern story.) Lupin (2021) (crime and mystery. Normally I dont watch series but this and Arcane did it for me. If you like Flawless (2007), this checks off similar but different boxes.) My Octopus Teacher (2020) (Marine biology meets documentary. An extremely rare experience of a diver making friends with an octopus. Following the adult life cycle of this one particular octopus. Yes the ending is saddening but the diver didnt intervein with mother nature. Just know before watching a beautiful film. 6/5 rating) Ukryta gra (Coldest Game) (2019) (a Polish film about chess but also about spies and events around the Cuban Missile Crisis. We are finding out more and more how this crisis could have gone really poorly. And these lessons are still not being respected to this very day. Sometimes its good to study history through historical fiction as this espionage thriller tells a powerful story. Das Leben der Anderen (2006) shares a similar story and position about Cold War spies. Both well made films that use the history as their centre piece) 義理/恥 (Duty/Shame) (2019) (Japanese detective dealing with the concepts of Duty and Shame. Hardly cheerful as this detective navigates their police depart policies. If you are familiar with Japanese cinema, this fits into similar heavy crime dramas, even though it is written by an outsider. What makes this a riveting story is dead serious sass which Rodney Yamaguchi is. Through Rodney, you have the makings of a film) Beirut (2018) / Traitor (2008) both are spy films dealing with intelligence work but also providing introspection which hopefully the west can be self-critical. Specifically like how Green Zone (2010) sums up the fuckery the usa is. All I want is humans to see other humans just as humans. That neighbours respect neighbours, for flying different flags/religions. Than creating tomorrow’s animosity. These films are probably the most graphic.
