I'm not entirely sure on that comparison tbh, Quinton Reviews doesn't strike the same primal nerve of unrelenting hatred in me that most other BreadTubers do. Quinton doesn't really have that same insufferable sense of narcissism and self-righteousness to him that most BreadTubers have. As a horror fan myself, that's not the first time I've heard that bit about horror being about "challenging the status quo" and all that. It CAN be about that- art can be whatever the artist wants it to be, and some pull it off with great skill- but overwhelmingly I find that some people of IPOS's mindset feel the need to justify why they like horror so much. They need it to be deep and very socially relevant- specifically, socially relevant to THEIR sociopolitical values. Because they genuinely believe that the art/media you consume or enjoy is automatically reflective of your values and morals. And since horror is often violent and full of very (as IPOS and his set would call it) "Problematic" content, they have to craft a narrative that "No, guys, horror is actually super Woke and Leftists and Non-Problematic for the most part". Which then leads to them shaking their fingers at any horror media that doesn't neatly cater to their values and way of thinking. I have seen the most glacially bad and twisted takes on horror movies/books/games, because people like IPOS insist on forcing every single interpretation of media through their incredibly narrow and biased lens instead of taking it on its own terms or thinking outside of the box. For what it's worth, I don't think he's any more mentally ill than anyone else of his mindset. There are a lot of people like IPOS that just love any reason to be a victim, and so they go about life reading negative intent in literally anything and everything.

His needless hatred was bad but his biggest problem was he didn't get youtube: KZbinrs aren't in competition with eachother like streamers are, the demand for content is endless and many youtubers in the same niche share subs. Making friends and networking can only help you, attacking big youtubers only hurts you.

Look at some of the bigger KZbinrs in a given space, they generally know each other and are friends. The Boys, most of the actual guntubers and a lot of gametubers. They've figured out how to grow by lifting eachother up.

Its interesting, because in the same video, he said that you 'shouldn't go around harassing the people mentioned" and then at the last part of his video he states that Wendigoon shouldn't be allowed in the horror community spaces or even in public in general. He is not genuine with his statement that his fans shouldn't go around harassing other people, he is explicitly making a call of action to harass Wendigoon and prevent him from just existing in public. Its absolutely disingenuous, slimy even.
