I gotta say the MK2 is by far the hardware to get for the cost it’s a no brainer. MPC ONE better drop the price to compete. The 404 MK2 has been coming up game changing (for the 404’s) updates in short succession. Let’s go!!
@AveMcree2 жыл бұрын
Compete with what??? Are you drunk???? lmao
@edgarcortes2 жыл бұрын
@@AveMcree Exactly my thoughts Ave, even with this update the MKII is a whole tier beneath the MPC on capabilities, connectivity and composition flexibility alone not even mentioning stuff like outboard midi sequencing, plug-in instruments etc, etc.. If the MKII inspires you with its feature set that’s amazing, but don’t go looking for the level of MPC capabilities in the MKII dear comment reading consumers. If Akai wants to drop the price sure we all win! But the prices of everything went up so 😘
@jamesjr25502 жыл бұрын
@@edgarcortes I honestly like the simplicity of the mk2 honestly moves me away from my daw compared to my other samplers dj ave videos got me going with the akai force I use the mv and su700 when I'm not using the mk2 but the mk2 get stuff done fast
@Dichotomos2 жыл бұрын
@@AveMcree it’s pretty obvious, simplicity wins out over a daw in a box. Price wise 404mk2 easily slays the MPC ONE. Obviously the MPC will always hold a soft spot for MPC fans. But honestly the ONE is a poor man’s MPC LIVE I or II. Just make the jump and get a LIVE. EFX inside the MPC modern units are laughable at best whereas the 404 have staked a reputation and legacy on their EFX alone. Compete? With this update it’s getting closer, if you don’t see it then that ain’t my fault.
@MrMissingReel2 жыл бұрын
The MPC One ist poor man's Live ? 🤣....I'll always choose a One over a Live....battery powered? Don't need it...build in Speaker? A gimmick....don't need it. The One has way more Buttons instead and the feel of a 2000....and that's what I'm looking for 😉 If you prefer a 404 instead....be my guest. At the end of the it's about music....not about gear porn!

Love your content, brother. Question for you: I've heard that the SP404 mk2's sound quality is way better than the new MPC's. I'm about to purchase my first Standalone beat machine because my current setup has a lot of latency, and it might have to do with me, using a laptop. I don't know if I should get the newest MPC One Plus or the SP 404mk2. Which one would you get if you were me? I really want great sound out of the box, but I also want comfortable workflow, and the 404mk2 seems more complicated. Thank you
@AccurateBeats Жыл бұрын
The audio quality might be better on the SP… I’m afraid I haven’t tested that out side by side. The SP has a wonderful soul and workflow to it but the MPC is a bit more capable.
@BanderaFilmsAndMusic Жыл бұрын
@@AccurateBeats For some reason, I feel inclined to purchase the 404, cause it looks more personal. The MPC on its side seems to be what a machine should be, though. Maybe I should just get both and have my wife divorce me. lol Thank you so much for the help, brother; I'm always watching your content.

I've been reading that people have had issues with the sensitivity of the pads. I myself have found that some pads are more sensitive than other pads. Is this just the way it is or do I have a faulty unit?
@AccurateBeats2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know about other people but I has some issues with double triggers before I found the settings for the pad threshold and aenaitivity. Now my pads behave exactly as they should.
@GrootsieTheDog2 жыл бұрын
@@AccurateBeats Thanks yeah I tried all the different settings but basically the pads do not have equal sensitivity. From what I’ve been reading, I’m luckier than some - I actually have some pads that are super sensitive - some people are complaining that all their pads are not as responsive compared to an MPC.

Honest question from a non-fanboy: what does it do better than an MPC One? Thanks!
@Sparks3D2 жыл бұрын
What do you want it to do is the question? From a non-mpc fanboy, I have a MKII, and used to have a MPC Live that I sold, I would say it offers an iterative, no nonsense approach to beat making that doesn't need to rely on menu diving or plugins like the MPC workflow does. It isn't trying to be a hardware controller (standalone or otherwise) for PC software (all current gen MPCs). So the MKII focuses entirely on getting your beats and rhythms down quickly and efficiently without the pain of working with a hardware controller that is just a container for the same exact PC software you could have just thrown on an old laptop and saved a ton of money to begin with.
@AccurateBeats2 жыл бұрын
A great answer! They’re different tools, made for different people.
@Tinmar_Isation2 жыл бұрын
@@Sparks3D ok, so nothing better if I read you correctly :P Thanks for the answer mate!
@Sparks3D2 жыл бұрын
@@Tinmar_Isation It doesn't really sound like you were seriously looking for answers and just wanted to say that you feel the MPC One is better for whatever reason that you have yet to explain. Having used both workflows, I can honestly say that the MPC software is not for me, no matter what hardware box they copy the same MPC OS to. So much menu diving, iLoK is pretty lame and a pain to deal with when you go to sell one of the MPC Live clones, all the standalone MPC devices are just copies of the same software in a different wrapper, and the price for those boxes are twice what they should be (MPC Live, One, etc.) The MKII has none of what I just mentioned, so that is exactly why it was a smart choice for me.
