National grid operator SP Group says it is working to resolve about 80 remaining cases of homes in Tengah that are having issues with the centralised cooling system. There have been several complaints about leakage as home owners prepare to move in. Tengah is touted as Singapore's first smart energy town which offers the more sustainable system in place of conventional air conditioners. Rebecca Metteo with more.

This type of standard service! I terminated it even though I do not know when my key collection date is, and I still need to pay a fine!! Really a robbery world!! Then it stated "No Official receipt will be issued !!". Is it under under-table business ??

Why are Singapore homes so small ? Since it is high rise , going a little wider is better .. otherwise feels so claustrophobic

For those thinking about whether to take CCS, just a word of advice. Take it only if you want to meet the guys from sp power and daikin at least once a week.

Say workmanship issue. then say tight timeline. 3 quotation system; main con squeeze subcon jialat jialat. this is the result.

This problem can never be resolved. A water chilling system cannot be used in such a residential housing concept unless they can ensure a constant number of residents turn on their aircon system at any given time. And this 'constant number' needed will be close to almost 100% of all units in operation. Without this, water will continue to leak and flood those units having such system installed. Either the whole lot of folks do a class action suit to demand total refund back and SP dismantle the system or live with such a ...'mess'!

9000 HAD subscribed to CCS. How many still subscribing? Me and my neighbours all cancelled CCS. Many subscribers also have not moved in.

i didnt opt in. i was kinda skeptical on how SP would charge on the cooling potential of the water. especially since i book the 2nd floor unit in tengah waterfront. by the time the coolant reaches the bottom, even with insulation there will be a few degrees difference. but based the early adoption woes, the solution for the temperature difference is to have a high flow rate/pressure. that will mean pipes/joints leaking. then people also complained that they arent getting any cooling, turns out their home was on the "warm" return coolant line. the CCS seems more like an afterthought than an integrated solution. plus the fact maintenance is up to SP and their subcons, those that opt in will probably pay for the maintenance like a subscription service. while having lesser flexibility than a 3rd party service

In 25 to 30 years, these chilled water pipes will start to spring leaks anyway due to corrosion. Going to be a nightmare.

PPR pipes were used instead of steel pipes. PPR material does not corrode like steel.

The construction defects is not just a workmanship issue but a slack is supervision. It’s so often that supervisors from both contractors and consultants / RTOs etc just ask workers to report without personally carry out vigil diligent in process checks. Also aggravating the situations is supervisors request for photographs to show works completed. Thus u get clever photographs being submitted while the in process quality has been grossly compromised. This happens not only in new projects but also simple maintenance & repairs works. The “lay flat” 躺平attitudes is everywhere. Pro-active, responsible, diligent, quality supervisors and middle management officers are basically extinct in Sg.

Is there such thing about speed of water flow setting? Maybe that part? If switch on = flowspeed instead, lessen the turn? Maybe just this, imagine the pipe at toilet, same as that.

Temporary, but if imagine "change of brand", still the experience happened, about forking out money for repairs or trade-in, it's like on purpose. It's like the flood at some country: flood barrier "because too secret hot and pain"(from equator hole), unnecessary initiative?

Stop trusting the PAP government and their business cronies. They're taking Singaporeans for a ride. Start suing the PAP government and their business cronies for breach of contract. Seek damages.

Cheaper, ulu in god forsaken location, smelling chicken farm shxt and now this!! All these buyers thought they hit jackpot once MOP at Tengah but instead yrs down the road is still...💩. Only future buyers not knowing this (which is unlikely) would dare buy units there as 2nd or subsequent owners!😆😆😆

Central cooling system in homes. That's expensive. In concrete building, the insulation keeps the building at 28 to 30°C, you don't really air conditioning. Seems like bad for the environment. 🥺💣✋️
