Hi Kingsley, thanks my friend! This board is a departure from everything else I have surfed to date. I liked the way I surfed on my 8'11 SP25 but just 3" shorter and it is a surprisingly much smaller board overall

@@derekbell5333 Hi Derek Using industry standards, at 230 lbs as a beginner you would be looking between 175 to 205 liters BUT... that is just an average Many things to consider Age, height, fitness, surf experience, conditions you surf, if you want to take an easy start or challenge yourself a bit more. Hi Bill, I appreciate your sentiment. Been full time surfer since 1964 I have SUP surfed the past 11 years and surfed my SUP around the world a bit without issue. People have been quite reasonable after I have earned their respect... which begins by respecting them.

Hi Rick it’s Deb from Queensland again thank you for the info I’ll go down to Caloundra and have a look at Sony three4 of an hour drive away so yeah I’ll go down and have a look but I do like your 8 foot eight that you’ve showcased I recently bought a 96 from another supplier up here which I do like their boards I’ve got four of them so far and it’s 96R it’s a dream but I do like how the 88 moves. Never have too many boards that’s why I work the hours that I do seven days and five nights because I’ve got to gorgeous fur babies who need their mama and my Surfing so that’s my joy.

Hey Creek, I have been enjoying your surfing for at least a decade and think that was some of the best surfing I have seen in all that time. Great flexion and extension to get drive and acceleration out of your turns, and really loose rail-to-rail ankle action. Since I am also into my 70s now, watching you ride that board brought up a few questions: 1. Were the specs on the video correct? It is hard to picture cramming 138 liters into 8'8" X 31.3". That's the kind of volume we had in the old Fanatic Allwave 8'11" many years ago and that thing was a thick tank that looked nothing like the SP25 with its pulled-in nose and tail and pinched rails. Could you confirm the specs on the board you were riding in the video? I grew out of the volume of that old 140-liter AllWave in about a week so 138 liters sounds too big, but the board in this video did not look or surf like a 138-liter board??, 2. My current favorite board is 9' X 31" @ 120 liters with a very similar outline to the SP25 and it works great for me in all conditions here on Maui. I also still have my original version Sunova Flow 8'7" X 30.5"@ 121 liters but I seldom ride it anymore because of my concussion and eye injury from a surfing accident in Costa Rica a couple of years ago which continue to mess with my balance. I am only 163 lbs so I don't need a lot of floatation, but I do need a lot of stability because whenever I turn my head my vision and balance go crazy for a few seconds. 3. So my question is how you think the SP25 you were riding in the video would compare with my two current boards. You may still have my email address, so feel free to reply here or there. Congrats on some great surfing on that board!!!

Thanks Obi-john, your comments are much appreciated! My motto these days is: I am going to surf better today than I did last year", so I got some smaller boards, I am losing weight and pushing a bit harder. Not ready to slow down yet 🤗 The Allwave isn't even remotely comparable.... zero in common. The old Flow was never a board that I would surf frontside, but it was ok backside IMO.... that's why they totally redesigned it. The SP25 was a result of 2 years shaping work between Bert Burger and Sean Poynter, the number 1 SUP surfer in the world for 3 years. When Sean was happy with the shape, he finalized it. And rode it to wn the 2019 Barbados Pro on the APP tour. They made it a model and we get the same board as Sean, but at whatever size fits us. The volume was packed in so that Sean could stand at his ankles, while the competition was sunk up to their waist. It is focused mostly in the standing area behind the handle so the nose is super light and snappy. The deck is very flat and the rails drop down to a very refined performance rail. I find the 8'8 easier all around than my 8'11, so this board seems more reasonable at a smaller size. Sorry Obi-John, I must have been asleep when I answered before... Holy crap, I left out all the info you asked about 😵‍💫 I was also an Allwave guy back in my early days of SUP..... No comparison! The specs are right! Sean Poynter designed a board he could win on in the APP World Tour (and has) The volume was there to let Sean float at his ankles while his competition was sunk to their waist. The deck is quite flat and the rail drop quickly to keep as much volume as possible in his board, without giving up performance. The Old Flow was a fairly stable board but I wasn't a fan. This needs more tools... like links, pictures and discussion Plus I need to know what kind of waves you are surfing in Maui... some boards are better than others in Hawaiian juice! Stable boards like the SP25 and Placid might not work in some spots over there. I want to do some stability tests on some boards tomorrow to check which have the advantage

People often mention their board's volume these days but seldom the thickness. I still stick to the numbers to envision how the board will look like, then my local shaper takes care of nicely spreading the volume throughout the board. @@KostyaSanSnowboarding Tom and I were best friends in college, then lost touch after graduation I ran into him again at the Del Mar Skateboard contest when the Ztown boys brought down the house! After that, I snowboarded with him at Mountain High near Los Angeles, skated the orange grove cisterns and surfed the Ranch At his Skate factory he asked me to brush off a young kid who was looking for a sponsor, so I watched his routine and told him to work on upping his 360 count and come back next year...... it was a young Rodney Mullen. And I told him to go home and get better 😂🤣 Tom took me to a golf course near his home in Haddonfield NJ and dug through the leaves until he found the first snowboard he made when he was 9 years old. Tom was a gift to the world of Sport He helped create the first halfpipe that made snowboarding a spectator sport and ushered in the beginnings of Extreme Sports It still freaks me out when I think how young he died.... he was the healthiest person I knew and super fit. I still miss Tommy!
